Reading Reveng Wears Prada was like meeting up with an old friend. I read the original back in 2009 for a school project (of my choosing!). I loved the movie and I wanted to see how different the book was. The first book let me down plot wise, but I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. In walks this books... and all of my anger and frustrations with book one was fixed. Thank you Lauren Weisberger!

I know everyone didn't enjoy this book, but at times I felt like Lauren was writing this as the follow-up to all of the complaints I made to my friends and parents over a decade ago when I initially read this book. It's a fun romp with Andy and Emily starting their own business and living out their adult lives.

Did I hope for more? Oh yes! Did it really bother me all that much? Not really. This felt like a fun, cozy beach read. 

I expected Miranda to be more present and evil, but she really... wasn't. I did expect certain characters to change their ways... But I expected almost more drama. This book was so easy going, and wasn't the monster-fest I expect from Miranda Priestly (aka Meryl Streep, our mighty lord and saviour).

Overall, this is a nice follow-up that I found to be an easy read to binge. It was nice revising those characters again.

What can I say……….. I am a huge fashion, Anna Wintour, Vogue fan. I read The Devil Wears Prada twice, so of course I bought this book on the first day that it came out. Andy and Emily are friends now??? The story line was okay. I wanted to see more of Miranda Priestly in the book. I thought because of the title of the book that there would be much more interaction between Miranda, Andy and Emily. I did love Miranda’s reaction to the two girls when she runs into them at a party, pure Miranda (I will not ruin this if you have not read it). Andy Sachs got on my nerves this time, actually she did in the first book as well, I found her to be whiny, judgmental and self- absorbed. Miranda and Emily remain my favorite two characters. I also was not crazy about Andy’s fiance, I did not see her character with his type but again I was surprised by the way the author developed Andy’s character in this second book. If you are bored and cannot find a book to read and want an okay read to pass the time then pick this book up, hopefully for free at the library. Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns is really misnamed. This book is really about Andy and what has happened to her in the years since she told Miranda Priestly to f--- off. She's started a bridal magazine with her former nemesis Emily and she's getting married. Andy is still tormented by her experience at Runway, but she's successful. I found her kind of whiney.

And while the devil might be there in her Prada, she's not there much. It might have been a better book if she was.

It only took 200 pages before this book became hard-to-put-down! But once I was halfway through, it was like meeting up with an old friend - at first (200 pages) it was awkward but then it was like no time had passed at all.
