I got this book as a prime member and finished it in one day. the ending was so surprising and...different than I expected

So this was my first Rhys Bowen novel and I quite enjoyed it!

It did take me far too long to read (though no fault of its own), but in the end, it gave me everything I love. A little romance, a historical WW2 setting, interesting characters and a solid paced plot. The story was so vividly written, I felt like I was watching a drama on the telly.

I would definitely recommend this gem to fans of Downton Abbey. :)
