Gaby Barreto is at a turning point in her life when her twin brother, Eli invites her on tour selling merchandise for his band, Ghost Orchid as they open for headliner, The Cloud Collision. Traveling with both bands on one bus is a tight fit and Gaby finds herself bunking right above The Cloud Collision lead singer, Sasha Malykhin. Gaby is immediately impressed with Sasha's voice and stage performance, and as the tour heads into Australia and Europe, she finds herself fighting an attraction that she fears is one-sided.
Rhythm, Chord & Malykhin would be a much better novel if it was set in high school since most of the dialogue, conflict, and behavior is a very juvenile. Also, the story is filled with internal monologues only from Gaby's POV, leaving several characters underdeveloped. In addition, not much of any significance happens in this book, making it feel pointless, and the conclusion is very unsatisfying. Overall, Rhythm, Chord & Malykhin is a weak story. I've now read two books by Mariana Zapata and haven't enjoyed either, so I'm beginning to wonder if her novels just aren't for me.

1.5 It was a fast and easy read. It's a good book; it was cute and all that, but nothing really remarkable. Didn't like some 'jokes' in it as well.

a 3.5 stars but gonna round it to 4 bc gabysacha are babies

okay i went into this thinking i would give it a fair shot bc this one seems to be on the bottom of MZ’s book, but im now about 20% in and i see why. i thought it was going to be her classic slowburn but this was soooo rushed even though they didn’t get together until the last 10%. i feel like this book just suffers from 2010s writing if that makes sense, bc gaby was annoying and giving “pick me” and “im not like other girls”. there was a lot of misogynistic comments and slut shaming too. you can tell her writing has developed since this book.

4 Stars I think it is impossible for me to dislike Mariana Zapata's books each one always has these incredibly likable characters and the most perfect slow burning romances imaginable. While I had a hard time at first believing that everyone was in their mid to late twenties because of the way they acted a lot of the time. I ended up growing to love all of the guys in this book and their friendships. I especially loved the strong brother and sister dynamic in Rhythm, Chord & Malykhin because no matter how much they made fun of each other they had each other's backs. Personally coming from a family of three brothers I know how easy it is to revert back into children when we hang out and I liked reading about that type of relationship. The romance was perfect I fell so hard for Sasha & Gaby. This is a really sweet book, sometimes maybe a bit immature, and other times completely hilarious. Overall it was a lot of fun to read!

sachagaby were really cute but the transphobia and homophobia in this book was terrible and made me very uncomfortable

this mz book is so underrated. gaby and sacha are hilarious and i absolutely loved their relationship from the moment they met. almost gave it 5 stars bc i simply adore them sm but the ending felt a little rushed and underwhelming. despite that i still enjoyed it a lot and was a super fun and easy read <3

"Everyday. I want you everyday. You're the best thing in the world. You make me so fucking happy, Princess. You have no idea." Well this one wasn't a favorite but definitely was really cute. Their friendship was one of the best things in this book and how Sacha was so freaking in love with Gaby since day one, just so freaking cute!! I had some problems with some stuff the guys said but overall it was a short fun read tbh and I love Mariana Zapata too much!!

predictable but cute

Touring, laughter, tension, spice… this book had it all. Mariana will always be one my favorite authors and I can’t believe I didn’t know this book existed till today. Love, Love, Love!!

4.25 stars so so cute. i absolutely adore sacha. and now i really want to go on tour with hot musicians. AND THE SIDE CHARACTERS PLS I LOVED THEM SO MUCH. especially eli and mason, and their bond with gaby. i’m jealous. but gaby’s jealousy episodes were so childish and annoying i wanted to choke her. like why would you ignore sassy for a whole ass week. mad stuff.

SOOO BORING i have been reading this since last month

Funniest one. Very light and frothy-not much angst. Happy to see the two characters get together.

Check out this and my other reviews at My Blog, Facebook, Google+, Twitter and Pinterest ★Book Basics★ Genre : - Cont. Romance Series : - Stand Alone Love triangle? - (view spoiler)[No (hide spoiler)] Cheating? - (view spoiler)[No (hide spoiler)] HEA? - (view spoiler)[Yes (hide spoiler)] Would I read more by this author/or in this series? - Yes Rating - 4 ★Review★ This felt a bit different for a book by this author. It was still a slow burn romance, but the hero was actually rather lovely, and not at all grumpy. It was a touch more light hearted too, with a great cast of secondary characters, and experiencing the relationship between the heroine, her brother and two best friends, was as great as experiencing the slowly building friendship between the heroine and the hero. And I loved it, but I think I just prefer her grumpier heroes. A great 4 star read, it is a slow burn, light hearted lovely romance. But even though Sacha was a more open and friendlier hero than her norm I felt like I had less of an impression of him as a man, than in say Kulti or The Wall of Winnepeg. He just felt like he had less layers and was a slightly flatter charter. Still, in saying that this is still massively better than 99% of anything I have read in the last year.

Funny and sexy, with the amazing slow burn I've come to love from Mariana's books. I am, however, gonna need her to write faster since I only have one more of her backlist titles to read before I'm done with the lot of them. Review to come!

2.5 stars

4.5 stars – my 4th favorite MZ book, right behind Kulti, Winnie, and WFI. I LOVED Sacha!!
