Enjoyment of this series hinges on how well one likes or relates to the grandmother. Although I can appreciate that times were hard and her heart was in the right place as demonstrated by her occasional, albeit it still bizarre, acts of charity, I don't find her lovable. Nor do I find the adventures particularly humorous nor heartwarming.
