Richard Wurmbrand

Tortured for Christ

Ibrahim Seliman

I was given this book during my period of search for truth few months before my conversion from Islam to Christianity. I was trying to resolve whether Christ actually died on the cross, a claim that Islam categorically denies. But as I meditate on those who take up their cross daily as good disciples of Jesus emulating his example as their high priest who went ahead willingly and died on their behalf, I could not help but be fully convinced that Christ died certainly for on on the cross 2000 years ago. I converted. And not long after I was bearing the cross of Christ and was learning what it means to take part in the fellowship of his suffering, simply because Christianity without the cross a mutilated form of religion, and it is through the cross that Christ in his perfect atonement saves.

After years of imprisonment and solitary confinement, enduring inhumane torture, Richard Wurmbrand emerges with a powerful testimony of courageous faith. Even today, believers are suffering and dying for Christ, yet their faith will not falter under the most unthinkable persecutions. In this stirring account, Wurmbrand (founder of The Voice of the Martyrs) encourages us to remember those in chains and equips us to help our persecuted brothers and sisters in Christ around the world.

Amazing! I love reading books about Christians who use their lives for Christ. This was a big eye opener to what some people go through when they have the Christian faith.
