The final installment of Vampire Academy does not disappointed full of new challenges it follows the story of Rose and her quest to find her redemption and the lost brother/sister of Lissa. Although the book held up to the expectations it was full of loose ties which most of them were presented just before the book's ending confusing the reader. Overall it was great excepting the last pages which Mead bombarded us with new issues and problems which were left unsolved some left for the next series, some forever, who knows.

May contain spoilers. The end of the Vampire Academy Series. It was a long journey to get here but it was worth it in the end. Everything was wrapped up nightly, all was said and done, and yet there’s still more… The Bloodlines Series. My initial reaction when I first picked up the book was “Damn, this book is long…” and yes, there are longer books like the Harry Potter books, but something I’ve found with Mead’s books was longer doesn’t always mean better. I found that in length, where all your questions get answered also comes at the price of a lot of filler. Rose Hathaway has done it all. Run away from school, been the youngest to kill a Strigoi, falling in love with her mentor, broken into high security prisons, and now she’s charged with murdering the Queen of the Moroi. That’s a lot of red for someone who’s only eighteen. Determined to get out of jail and find out who Tatiana’s murderer really was, Rose will need the help of all her friends and allies, as well as a few surprising enemies. But, in order to stall for time and keep the guardians off Rose’s trail Adrian and the others at court have to convince the Moroi to acknowledge Vasilisa as a candidate to become Queen. First and foremost my problem with this book was that it was LONG. Now, I know that’s a serious criticism and in previous reviews I complain that most books are too short, well yes, that’s true. But there is also such thing as being too long. And yes, I can safely say that there are books out there that are not too long, and not too short, but just right. The beginning of the book promised too much in my opinion. It seemed to start off halfway into a movie rather than the beginning. Picture Last Sacrifice as a film. Rose is in jail, all hope is lost, and then BOOM everyone she’s ever cared about in court ban together to bust her out of jail. WOW! That was totally exciting! Bang-up job! It shows a wonderful contrast to how Rose is always the one saving everyone else, and for once she’s the one that needs to be saved. Then there are a few epic chase scenes, yatta, yatta, yatta, and then it just gets really boring… There’s a lot of back and forth going on with looking into Lissa’s head, which, I guess there was no other way around it, and it is an interesting way to go about the story instead of changing POV’s. Maybe I’m just being too picky. That’s probably what it is. The trials that Moroi Royalty go through in order to be crowned King or Queen were really very interesting. In my head it definitely played out like the Harry Potter Tri-Wizard trials, although perhaps not as exhilarating. I do admire all the technical work that went into this last book. A murder occurred and now everyone is trying to solve the mystery as to who did it. It even plays out like a mystery and at the end, presents the reader with a shocking turn that I didn’t see until it was obvious. (I know that sounds confusing but bear with me because if I say anything more it’ll give everything away). Rose and Dimitri were amazing and were the highlight of the story. Adrian is my love! I LOVE him. And just all is right in the world. But there are still a lot of unanswered questions that might rise in your mind when you get to the end. What happened to the Keepers? Where is Robert? What’s going to happen to the Dragomir Family now? What about Sydney and the Alchemists? Where is Eddie? And serious can Abe and Janine please get back together? I mean, seriously. Aside from Rose and Dimitri, I love Janine and Abe. Abe’s just like…AMAZING like if he was my dad…just no problem. All and all, a great end to a wonderful series. The romance, especially with Rose and Dimitri, came full circle and everyone, including Rose, did a lot of growing up in the year this series took place. With all the questions left untouched the only thing to do is read the continuation in the Bloodlines spinoff. But for now I need a break… 4/5 Hearts of Love Check out more of my reviews at http://www.akiikomorireading.com

Well, that was such a pretty incredible conclusion of the Vampire Academy series! Last Sacrifice is one of the best series-enders I've read so far. It's adrenaline-pulling and full of actions. It's also fast-paced, unlike the previous books which are a little dragging. I also love the mystery involved in this book and the romance between Belikov and Rose! The killer of the important character was finally unveiled here, and guess what my reaction after finding out who the culprit behind? It was mind-blowing! Now aside from that, There were also more revelations other than the murderer! So many people died and so many appeared that we didnt know about! We were also introduced to the other side of the vampire world which, I did not know there were such people like the KEEPERS. There were also more involvements from Sydney and The Alchemists. And yes, Abe Mazur FTW! And did I say Lissa's character really improved here? I love everything here in this book from the beginning to the end; I just wished there was a different kind of ending between Rose and Adrian. It did not sit well with me. I love that boy and it pained me so much when their final coversation happened like that. BIG OUCH. Well at least I still have Bloodlines and I am very excited to find out his story and Sydney's now that a certain Dragomir is a special Royal.

** spoiler alert ** kick-ass book just like its kick-ass characters. Crazy and jam packed and just an amazing story. we finally see what we have all been waiting for. Rose and Dimitri finally get back together ! even if it is right at the end of book just as Dimitri nearly looses Rose... again! i swear that man needs to get his head out of his ass As much as I love this book series, after reading it and then thinking about it for a while, no matter how much Rose loves Dimitri and thinks their soulmates or whatever, it really does seem like a young foolish 17 year old girl in love chasing after someone who doesn't want her, or who does want her but cannot give in to her. However when reading it, the book does not come across like that. Mead wrote this book beautifully, from the darkness taking over Rose to the point she murders (which, lets be real, we were all waiting for that to happen since we found out about the darkness) to Rose and Dimitri finally coming together again, which was a truly beautiful and magical moment in the book that made me cringe but also made my heart melt. A great ending the 6 book series.

This has been a great ride!!! What a crazy ending to this amazing world of Vampire Academy. I couldn't tell you how much I was actually dreading reading this book, I didn't want the whole series to end! I needed more Rose and Dimitri, and also... sexy Adrian!! The conclusion to this wonderful series did not disappoint, and I was quite glad at how they left things. Of course some things were left unanswered but luckily for us Richelle Mead is an angel and has written a spin off series, but more on that later!!! As a theme with the series, Rose's p.o.v was hilarious, witty, sarcastic and just humorous in general. We can now say we know where she gets it from considering her father, Abe Mazur is one hell of a funny guy. I loved Lissa's journey to the crown, and through the tests she found the last one, most challenging, ""What must a queen possess in order to truly rule her people?"... And just like that, Lissa suddenly knew the answer. "Nothing," she said softly, "A queen must possess nothing to rule because she has to give everything she has to her people. Even her life."" DAMN, idk about you guys but when I read that, I got chills all over. It's crazy to see how grown and mature Lissa is, she truly would make a great queen. I liked how Mead incorporated a murder mystery in here, like that was pretty clever! I love that little aspect of the book, and when we got to find out who did it, dun dun dun very unexpected. We see a lot of characters in this book, too many to keep up with almost. We are reunited with the trio of sorts, Victor, Robert, and Sonya. Also Sydney! Cant forget about our favourite alchemist. Of course, Dimitri and Rose are now side by side, yet not really as they were before. Since, Dimitri is pretty ashamed with himself about how he treated Rose when he was a Strigoi, he needed space from her, and instead, turned to Lissa and her friendship. Lets just say, Rose wasn't too happy with that, and neither was I!! A real downer was Rose and Adrian, I mean poor Adrian didn't deserve half the stuff done to him and he basically got shit on when Dimitri turned back into a Dhampir. This book was fast-paced, the ending was great and we even got a little twist at the end at court with Rose and a certain evil someone. Now, usually I would fill this section up about how much I'm going to miss this series and world and blah blah blah. BUUTTTTTTTT like I said earlier, there is a spinoff series thank the lord. It's called Bloodlines, and it follows the young alchemist Sydney, that we happen to already know from Blood Promises. It was so interesting reading another p.o.v of this world! And yes, you do get re-connected with everyone and I mean EVERYONE!! YAY!! like multiple appearances each book :) SO that made me pretty happy haha. Anyways, this was a great conclusion to The Vampire Academy Series and I cant wait to re-enter the world in Bloodlines. IF you liked this review, check out more YA reviews and even the previous books of the Vampire Academy Series!!! http://keepcalmandloveboooks.blogspot.ca

Oh the pain that it's all over... Why WHY WHY WHY is this the last book???? If you want a HEA kind of ending you will get it and it's complete perfection. This book is kick arse. I loved it! And now I'm going to read the spin of about Sydney called bloodline (has anyone read it??) but I still feel like there could easily be another series about these main characters and it would be amazing. I love the characters that Richelle has created, it's been a blast to read and I still have some serious blues. BRING ME ANOTHER SERISE!!!! And while I'm here being me frostbite as a movie or these books as a TV show... Imagine how good this could be as a fox or HBO show? Yes I know. P.s make sure you google homecoming which is a short story set a couple of weeks after this book!!!!!

Good series! Not something I normally read, but my cousin convinced me. It’s definitely a slow series, with a main problem through that is keeping the love interests apart (which is a big pet peeve of mine). But the end of this book it’s really nice! It wraps up everything perfectly and gives you the ending you want for the most part.
