The world was collapsing and the only thing that really mattered to me was that she was alive.

"So," Beckendorf said, "I'm guessing you don't want me to mention that little scene to Annabeth."

"Oh,gods," I muttered. "Don't even think about it."

"With great power...comes great need to take a nap. Wake me up later."

Pia

He nodded sleepily. "With great power . .. comes great need to take a nap. Wake me up later."

The world was collapsing, and the only thing that really mattered to me was that she was alive.

I don't recommend shadow travel if you're scared of:

d) Going so fast you feel like your face is peeling off

In other words, I thought it was awesome.

Aphrodite reminded him of Annabeth and honestly what more can a girl want

I found myself staring at her, which was stupid since I'd seen her a billion times. Still, she seemed so much more mature. It was kind of intimidating. I mean, sure, she'd always been cute, but she was starting to be seriously beautiful.

Okay," I said. "Just a normal afternoon and two normal people."

She nodded. "And so...hypothetically, if these to people likes each other, what would it take to get the stupid guy to kiss the girl, huh?"

"Oh..." I felt like one of Apollo's sacred cows-slow, dumb, and bright red. "Um...

The last time I'd seen the Minotaur, he'd been wearing nothing but his tighty whities. I don't know why. Maybe he'd been shaken out of bed to chase me.

I will deny I ever said this, of course, but the gods need heroes. They always have. Otherwise we would not keep you annoying little brats around."

And you, my daughter, will design these improvements."

Annabeth looked up, stunned. "My...my lady?"

Athena smiled wryly. "You are an architect, are you not? You have studied the techniques of Daedalus himself. Who better to redesign Olympus and make it a monument that will last for another eon?"

"You mean...I can design whatever I want?"

"As your heart desires," the goddess said. "Make us a city for the ages."

"As long as you have plenty of statues of me," Apollo added.

"Hey, and me!" Ares said. "Big statues with huge wicked swords and-"

All right!" Athena interrupted. "She gets the point. Rise, my daughter, official architect of Olympus.

Before I could lose my courage, I said, "Don't I get a kiss for luck? It's kind of a tradition, right?"

I figured she would punch me. Instead, she drew her knife and stared at the army marching toward us. "Come back alive, Seaweed Brain. Then, we'll see.

Just tell me, Percy, do you still have the birthday gift I gave you last summer?" I nodded and pulled out my camp necklace. It had a bead for every summer I'd been at Camp Half-Blood, but since last year I'd also kept a sand dollar on the cord. My father had given it to me for my fifteenth birthday. He'd told me I would know when to "spend it," but so far I hadn't figured out what he meant. All I knew that it didn't fit the vending machines in the school cafeteria.

All year the half-bloods have been preparing for battle against the Titans, knowing the odds of victory are grim. Kronos's army is stronger than ever, and with every god and half-blood he recruits, the evil Titan's power only grows. While the Olympians struggle to contain the rampaging monster Typhon, Kronos begins his advance on New York City, where Mount Olympus stands virtually unguarded. Now it's up to Percy Jackson and an army of young demigods to stop the Lord of Time.

⭐ Phenomenal ⭐

An ending I didn't expect but well worth the read.

I took a while again but wowzers so much fun.

Hmmm. This book was really good, but it also felt one-dimensional. Any fight with Kronos felt a bit Dumb because this guy is supposed to be a Titan. I think it's because this fight has been hyped up throughout the series, and I had much higher expectations than what happened. I had fun reading it, but I just have to accept this is a children's series, and I shouldn't be hoping for more fleshed-out conflicts and characterization lol. Also, the Oracle stuff was really cool. Overall, 3.5 and Percy will always be famous.

Percy Jackson rejected an offer of immortality for a girl he wasn't even dating yet. And the way he let Annabeth know his Achilles heel :((( I LOVED IT. LOVED ALL OF THIS BOOK.

…….. no words….. THAT WAS LIKE THE BEST FUCKING BOOK

6 stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Absolutely my favorite, hands down the best book in the series. Words can't explain how amazing it is. Non-stop action with zero boring or filler scenes.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Book 5

i understand why people say this is the best book in the series because WOW, this one was incredible! i adored the ending and getting to see just how much they have all grown up. getting to see how the gods reacted to them and thanked them for saving the world was so cool, i was crying tears of pure happiness for them. i am really sad that the original series is over but i am so glad i finally finished it. also, I AM SO EXCITED FOR BOOK 6 THIS YEAR!

The Last Olympian by Rick Riordan closes out the Percy Jackson saga with a siege on Manhattan by Kronos and his army. The Camp Half Blood students form up an army in the hopes of keeping Mt. Olympus from falling.

All the way through the books this epic battle is hinted at so it's the natural conclusion for the series. As a reader of fantasy series, I find these gigantic battles tedious. That said, The Last Olympian is one of the best I've read. The best though still goes to The Return of the King by J.R.R. Tolkien.

Now in terms of clever thematic titles, The Last Olympian is great. It's not the obvious solution. It's something better and something that will get kids thinking about foreshadowing and dramatic plotting and other literary devices. It was something my son was talking about for weeks after finishing it.

As all the books are retellings of Greek stories and myths, The Last Olympian draws parallels with The Iliad. The choices Percy makes and the character he aligns himself with reveals an interesting depth to his character.

I'm not going to go into specifics, as I don't want to accidentally give away spoilers for the previous four books. Start at the beginning with The Lightning Thief and work your way through.

I'm not crying you're crying 👍

WOW, wow, wow – That’s the end folks, I have made 5 Books 13 Days and I have reached the end of the Perch Jackson Series and what a Series it has been, it’s been an adventure unlike any other and I have loved every second of the reading Experience of this one, reading the books back to back has made it such an enjoyable couple of weeks getting to meet Percy, His friends and go on 4 adventures with them and then at the very end try and save the world.. Can he do it….

Doomsday is at the doorstep. The invincible Kronos, Lord of Time, Luke, and the unstoppable army of gods, demigods and monsters progressively approach Manhattan to finally destroy a lightly guarded Mount Olympus. Percy, Annabeth, Grover and a handful of determined demigods and allies, the only obstacles in their way. Nothing can stop the incoming onslaught, and the fulfilment of the so dreaded prophecy. Everything will be settled in an epic godlike battle that will forever decide the fate of the Olympians, and the future of the whole western civilization.

That’s the end of the Series and EPIC is the word that I would use to descried it all, within a 380-page book it feels that so much happens that you can recall it all & I’m not going to because if you are reading this review and have not read the previous 4 books then please go and pick them up! Every Character in this one has a contribution wither it’s something small or big it’s all in there. So many events, plot twists and conflicting sides fighting for their ideals, and still simple enough for one to never lose perspective of the big picture, never too overcrowded, or difficult to grasp the magnitude of it. After five books the build, up was just explosive. Words fail me to describe such amount of EPICNESS!

What a Series, What an Author and What an Adventure! Rick Riordan – I thank you!!

Most people get presents on their sixteenth birthday. I get a prophecy that could save or destroy the world. It happens when you're the son of Poseidon, God of the Sea. According to an ancient prophecy, I turn sixteen and the fate of the entire world is on me. But no pressure. Now Kronos, Lord of the Titans, is beginning his attack on New York City. And the dreaded monster Typhon is also heading our way. So it's me and forty of my demigod friends versus untold evil . . .

5 STARS ON REREAD, UNLESS I CAN GIVE IT 6

I took notes, but they get spotty towards the end because I was spending too much time screaming in real life
(view spoiler)[
*Sorry Percy, can you say that again, but in my right ear? My left ear ships Percabeth and is IGNORING YOUR FLATTERING DESCRIPTIONS OF RACHEL 🤜🤛
*ARE YOU SERIOUS RIGHT NOW PERCY
*Okay, but I can respect that Rachel represents something "normal" for him. He hasn't had that for like, four books now.
*RIP the Prius (maybe he can get a real car now)
*I kid, Prius apologists don't come after me
*Oh, they're just now telling us that Beckendorf is hot?? Way to bury the lede
*Rachel, I've some newfound respect for you, but would you kindly get your lips off of my boy Percy
*Holy cats that's brutal 😭😭
*RIP Poseidon is old now
*Amphitrite's little crab horns really stick in the brain for some reason. I forgot about the Mist existing in Lightning Thief, but for some reason this has a permanent spot in my brain folds
*We're bringing back the brain folds, yes we are
*Tyson is such a good egg
*Omgosh you guys are in love, that's what this is, just LOVE EACH OTHER
*THE PROPHECY WAS RIGHT THERE THE WHOLE TIME rolling
*Annabeth: This prophecy gave 10-year-old me nightmares Percy: That's interesting, now can I r e a d i t
*"...it would be the last time I ever visited the attic" WHAT AN OMINOUS THING TO SAY (also is this true??)
*Shoutout to this book teaching my young self the word "raze"
*"As a general rule, I preferred not to have my soul reaped." same same
*I did not remember the spy plotline, so this is all pretty devastating all over again (I remember who it is though, because who could forget that, oof)
*Chiron keeps his hot plate on, even when no nachos are present. For some reason this is more worrying to me than the climbing wall (you know, with the lava)
*Good ol' Leroy
*The derecho was Typhon, change my mind
*The math isn't mathing - it took him two days to travel from Washington state to Somewhere Midwest USA, but it's going to take him five days to get to NYC? 🤔 Hmmm
*I have a playlist called "I don't know what this is" that sounds pretty much exactly like Rachel's musical tastes
*Also, ever since watching the movie "Big," it has lowkey been my dream to live in a sparse loft overlooking the city, so her "room" sounds pretty nice (barring that, I'd like to live in a dark little firelit brick house somewhere where it's never warm or dry, please and thank you)
*Heck yes, Nico di Angelo
*"His belly would have made him an invincible bumper car" what a fascinating way to describe that 😂😂
*I don't mind going so fast my face feels like it's peeling off, but the rest of it sounds unpleasant 🫤
*Even as someone who's not a demigod, I wouldn't hesitate to punt a creepy child I found sitting in the woods
*"Sometimes the hardest power to master is the power of yielding."
*A two month nap sounds great right about now
*"As I recall, in the old times we almost died a lot."
*"Your sister would've done a better job" actually shut up Hades
*Demeter saying that Persephone could've married the god of doctors or the god of lawyers is very funny actually
*"Let me kill him, just a little bit" down, boy
*Alecto's skills include: transforming into convincing lawyers or teachers at will
*I get that it's tempting but please don't kill Nico
*WITH GREAT POWER COMES GREAT NEED TO TAKE A NAP
*Percy going into the River Styx is a lot like my experience of swimming in Loch Ness in April (it was chilly, don't recommend)
*Dang
*Percy is officially the coolest person I know
*It does hurt my heart a little that Percy tells Nico he shouldn't join the fight above ground. He spent all last book saying he didn't belong, and Percy just lowkey confirmed that. Ouch.
*This dude who mans the reception desk in the Empire State Building is going to be fired for letting Percy and his mini army through, either by the city or by the gods, whoever takes notice first
*Annabeth's "little curses" from Hera sound like living in Wisconsin. I don't usually see the cows either...
*Granted I don't have to worry about stepping in their business while at my place of work, so that's definitely a step up
*Dude, I forgot that Luke is the one who gave Annabeth the knife.
*"You're part of our family now. And I promise I won't let anything hurt you. I'm not going to fail you like our families did us." Ouch that hurts me ouch
*Is it possible to look 25 and have salt-and-pepper hair? I always picture 2000s era George Clooney, who was decidedly not 25
*I must've said this before, but Travis and Connor have mad Fred and George vibes
*Dude, don't use your talking snakes as a backscratcher 😠
*Hermes does not get to be mad rn
*"What did they do to my city?"
*Argus would have the most powerful eye-rolls omgosh
*When the Hunters showed up I HEKKIN SCREAMED
*The Minotaur?

*Boy shot his shot, but now isn't really the time 😅
*Alright, the Minotaur's axe is pretty sick actually
*Omgosh he's been collecting necklaces from dead demigods?? That's too much
*OKAY PERCY, FEELING BRUTAL TODAY
*FREAKING ETHAN NAKAMURA HOW ARE YOU ALIVE
*Stop, Percy protecting Annabeth is too much for me to handle
*"The impact shook the entire bridge" this is so cool
*Also Percy immediately disarms Kronos, like immediately
*NOT ANNABETH (also rip Michael Yew, sorry your death is completely overshadowed by Annabeth's potential death)
*Omgosh this scene on the terrace, I'm screaminggggg
*Louis XVI furniture, yum (it's actually extremely logical that Baroque furniture would taste good. It already looks like frosting.)
*Holy cats man, this stuff with Hades, the di Angelos, and the Oracle is wild
*And honestly thank goodness for Hercules
*Zeus really is to blame for all of it, isn't he
*Wet peanut butter is the cursed content you weren't expecting
*I love how many callbacks to the first book there are, and the fact that it takes place mostly in NYC. Gold.
*Dude every hekkin thing with May Castellan is devastating
*"Talk later. WASTE MONSTERS NOW"
*Dionysus and I play video games the same way
*Hades plugging his ears so he can't hear Nico, what an actual child
*I cannot picture Nico on a farm...
*"You can't just abandon your family because they did something horrible. You've done horrible things to them too." Preach boy
*WHEN ARES CABIN SHOWS UP 🔥🔥🔥
*AND THEN SILENA 😭😭😭
*I feel bad for not caring about Leneus
*"...Hope survives best at the hearth. ... Guard it for me, and I won't be tempted to give it up again."
*I love how the Ophiotaurus contributes to the conversation every time ☺️
*FREAKING NICO DI ANGELO
*"Your death would be great for me."
*Heck yeah Sally Jackson (and Paul! Although the fact that he can't see through the mist worries me a bit 😅)
*Dude I will never get over this final battle
*Luke 😭😭😭
*One of the things that always makes me a bit sad is that Nico didn't get any kind of gift from the gods for his efforts, even though he single-handedly convinced three of them to join the fight. I like to imagine that Hades gave him some kind of something after the fact, keeping it kind of between the two of them.
*Tyson is a bean who deserves the world
*Thank goodness Annabeth got over herself enough to let Percy explain his thoughts
*Also I'm going to weep all this Percabeth is beautiful
*Rachel becoming the Oracle is always vaguely unnerving to me. I like her as a character (especially now that I'm older and not as phased by her interactions with Percy prior to this), but the thought of her going to Clarion and accidentally spouting a prophecy is too worrying lol
*Welp here we go again (hide spoiler)]
