Seeking shelter in hobo jungles and Hoovervilles, newlyweds Harlan Singer and his teenage bride, Sharon, make their way along the byways of the 1930s Depression landscape, as they search for an old man and the settlement of Harlan's long-standing debt, a quest with which Sharon becomes increasingly disenchanted.
