summary:
naomi accidentally got slammed with seb on the football field and a day later, sebastian got a bet to fuck naomi (by reina ofc, love her for that.) anyways, he didn’t wanna do it but after other people asked to do it he agreed. he started getting really close to nao (talking about animes [ hinter x hunter] , mangas, her art… soon he finds out that she loves being chased in a sexual way so he takes her to a forest, chases her and they get down and dirty😃 its ROUGH. right. naomi’s mom also has cancer, but she hasn’t really been close to her since the red night where naomi got sa’d by her mom’s bf sam when she was like 6. kai killed sam (my lover). kai is the guy nao hired to find her dad cause she hasn’t had the chance to meet him since birth. her mom always told her to not search for her dad because he’s a bad guy and yes, he’s a fucked up mafia boss whatever of the yakuza (japanese mafia) and kai is his right hand man, but he’s SO BAE!! ren also is one of his men. DID I MENTION NAOMI HAD A PENPAL NAMED AKIRA FROM JAPAN FOR YEARS?? well, it was actually seb cause his middle name is akira and he sent the letters from japan so that she doesn’t know it actually came from somewhere she’s close to. seb and nao get kidnapped, suffer for days and they have to do “challenges”, like nao having to take off her clothes or “fucking” ren so that they get something to eat or drink and so that seb’s wound gets help.. she agrees to fucking a stranger for seb and he feels so miserable for that. ren doesn’t really wanna fuck fuck but for the next 7 years seb and nao cut off contact cause nao broke up through a message and call. (she got forced to or seb would get killed and shit). she married a powerful asexual japanese dude who’s actually gay lmao because her dad wanted her to. seb and nao meet again and chase and fuck BYE. but yea long story short, they threaten the dad and akira to yk do shit that’ll ruin their careers, well naomi does cause seb is in the damn basement again, but they’re both free now and marry. btw nao has a step sis named mio, she’s a cutie who’ll have to and wants to marry damien from the bratva!! akira isn’t asexuall anymore because of ren. he’s into knife play😭

Me gustó bastante pero, siento que le faltó más acción respecto al desenlace, fue todo muy suave y conveniente. Me hubiese gustado que se desarrollara mas el personaje de Akira el malo jajaja. O de la hermana de Naomi.

El tema romance se convirtió en algo un tanto repetitivo por lo que en cierto punto me parecía cansina la parte de la persecución. No obstante, me devore este libro porque sencillamente esta mujer me tiene enganchada con sus historias.

Oh man this was some twisty-turny, heart dropping, gut wrenching goodness! I have not felt this emotionally assaulted by a book in a long ass time. No joke. This story goes in so many different directions, as soon as you think you have just an inkling of what’s next, NOPE. You’re wrong. You go through a whirlwind of emotion that literally had me jumping out of my chair and yelling “that did not just happen”! 

Sebastian and Naomi are pure dark, decadent angst. What started as a college senior kinky romance turns into a plot line that is much more complex. I truly didn’t know how these two were gonna make it at times. I just held on tight to the fact that I knew they would get there. No matter how damn much my heart broke for them. Time and time again. I seriously just wanted to hug the shit out of Sebastian so many times and take even the smallest of weights from Naomi. These two ripped me apart as much as they lit me on fire. 

So much happens in this book that it feels like a crash course of information but it all pulls together in the end. Even keeping in timeline with books in the same world. Rina wrote a fantastic tale of love, despair, lust and deceit. You absolutely just wanna go into Black Thorns head first, make sure your schedule is clear so you can read straight through. Cause let me tell you, when this second book starts you’re gonna get sucked it. So settle in and hydrate, maybe have a pillow to throw to keep your kindle safe and prepare for the chase.

Unforgettable conclusion for Sebastian and Naomi that took a direction I was not expecting. Their journey is intense and emotional with an unpredictable plot with many twists that I did have a lot of “wait WTF just happened.” So happy to add Sebastian and Naomi to one of my favorite Rina Kent couples. 

Amazing cast of secondary characters that I need more of.
