I love this book, I am interested in quite a big level of dark romance and would not recommend this book to anyone who wasn’t also interested in such. 

The main critique I have for this book is at times the romance gets lost. I am well aware of the type of book it is, but I do feel there could be quite a bit more connection between the main characters romantically. First scene was also a bit odd and could have been reduced or done in less detail. There should be more detail on the female love interests wanting or desire for the situation.

other then that, I love the author and her work and love in this book how the main male love interest is actually as described in the blurb. He isn’t a softie or anything less then what they book description says he is.

Killian’s book was talked about so much in the book community that i wanted to know what was so special about him, and now I know. It was all over booktok, one of the reasons why i even bought this book, and miss ma’am rina, i bow to you, this book took me on a hell of ride, which I loved til the end. 

Dark romances are all so good, and delicious in a way, but this one was so goooood, i knew I would love Killian, and i had second thoughts too, but we’ll pretend the cliff scene is non existent, thank you. 

Summary :<spoiler> glyndon is drowning in guilt for her friend’s death, blames herself for it. And therefore she’s at the cliff where he allegedly pushed himself, and died, she went there to get some air, only to encounter the monster of her life —killian Carson, who tells her “blow me or die” 👺😭 this mannn— 

The story progresses after that, but we get interactions between niko, Jeremy, crieghton, Annika, and many more. The plot only picks up after the 50% mark, after glyn is falling for Killian, and then finds out that he had a hand in driving her friend to kill himself. She distances herself from him, but Killian does not let her go, obviously because in his head, she’s different, and makes his demons rest. He also finds out that his mother isn’t scared of him, but for the things he could do. They have a sweet family reunion. And then someone beats glyndon, only to find out that it was the said friend who orchestrated all this. The plot was so good, at that point. And, then Killian with his friends of course, beats the shit out of the said friend too. His girl will not be hurt by anyone. He protects her, and also confesses to her, and the part where glyn realizes that he does love her, is also the part where i think rina may have fallen for Killian too while writing, because each and every word is so beautiful. I will anything rina writes. She’s my favourite writer. Enough of that, and then Killian takes her to the same cliff, and proposes to her, and hea.</spoiler>

Rating : ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (i loved this story too much)

Writing style : eloquent and precise. Rina never fails to write the most mature characters perfectly, miss ma’am surely eats perfection when she’s writing. All the books in this series don’t feel like a book, they feel like the story were real.

side characters :  levi and Astrid stood out to me, i now understand — even without having read their book— why they have three kids. Maybe it’s time to go read the dad’s book.

What i loved : i loved Killian, I knew i would love him at the beginning of the book, and after i turned more pages, this man — even nonchalance would bow at his feet, he’s so calm in the most terrifying of situations, does not blink, does not get threatened, in fact enjoys the thrill of seeing inside things he finds curious. 

I loved glyn, she fought him, but also surrendered to him in the right amount of push and pull. I think i may have fallen for the dad, levi. His name is so attractive — sir levi king, i need to go read your book, but my tbr is crying already. 😩😭

Favourite parts/ highlights : the banter between the main characters, lol. It’s so funny and touching.

I got 350 pages in and had to skim through the rest.

I fear that everyone in this book, literally everyone, is clinically insane.

This was literally a horror novel to me. I felt no romance within it's pages. I get it's a dark romance, but if Killian didn't "magically" feel that Glyn enjoyed his kidnapping, assault, threats, bodily harm, etc. then this is literally a book about a rape/kidnapping victim.

I'm so glad that she vibed with it, because encountering someone like Killian is actually a major fear of mine. So I'm glad it worked for her, but I don't know how something like this would work for anyone.

Someone that doesn't take no for an answer, is super controlling, enjoys hurting others, fantasizes about murder, etc. Like he is actually the worst. He literally would hunt her down and punish her for thinking for herself, and she got excited from it somehow.

Forgive me if it does for you, but this takes violence and abuse and puts it on the next level.

I wanted to read this book before I got to Jeremy/Landon's book, but I should've just went to Jeremy; though I read that each man in the book is basically the same person with different backstories, so I don't know if I even plan on doing that now.

I have read dark romances before, but nothing this heinous. There needs to be a little romance for me, just a tad, and all I felt for this was horror and disgust.

I get the set up for the rest of the series but there are soooooooo many characters it made it hard to develop the main characters and connect with them

I was on and off with this book, sometimes I took breaks because I wanted to be more invested in it, other times I was all in and felt myself being intrgued by the characters and plot

I related a lot to Kill and Glyn's story, I connected with Glyndon's process of emotions regarding Killian, seeing him for what he was then slowly trying to understand him and in the end, making him a better person, that's every love story but I still found it very relatable

Killian's character was interesting and although I'm not used to reading about psychopaths, I feel like being in his head could have been accurate to people with aspd, but I've never really met anyone with it (that I know of) so I can't say for sure

The writing was fast paced and I was on and off with wanting to read the rest of the series and stopping after this book

The writing sometimes felt cringe and the vocabulary felt very stereotypical and what I usually find in popular dark romance books, also the amount of smut lowk turned me off 

I guess also seeing all the true love that was depicted in the book felt unrealistic to me, but that's probably just because I'm being pessimistic

However it was sweet, if I take a step away from my experiences and obervations it was lowk beautiful to see both Killian's parents and Glyndon's parents love each other with so much devotion

I also loved the pov we got of Astrid, she seem so genuinely sweet and caring

I read this since it was the book choice in the book club I joined in the Fable app, and I almost did not finish it. The male lead character, a “wannabe” psycho, and an alpha male with daddy issues raped a suicidal female lead with an inferior complex. The main characters appear to have a dull or “narrow” problem, the only reason behind the story. It was okay for me to have a story that reflects a real-life young adult problem, but it turns out to be forced just for the sake of having this story. However, I appreciate the plot twist, which is just 5% of the book, since the rest was just the main characters saying, thinking, and doing the F-word.

The writing reads like Wattpad vibes from my younger years, and the conversation in the story feels too childish despite being set in a college timeline where the characters are supposedly young adults. The story was overwhelmed with side characters that were so unnecessary in this series that it reads like this story is to introduce and have a glimpse of every character for the entire series.

Despite each book being standalone, I probably will not continue reading the whole series. I cannot recommend this to those readers whose cup of tea is mature dark romances, but to those who are into “cute” dark fantasies, this one is probably for you.

i am starting to feel like i'm being sucked in into the rina kent word and i am not sorry for that even tho i'm not reading in order BUT i don't if i'm afraid of killian or if i found him hot, definitely more the 2nd option then the first but this was so good i was just wanting read more non stop

This was my first time reading a Rina Kent book and, wow, what a rollercoaster. From the beginning, to the end of this book, it kept me on my toes. I’ve never read a book so slow on purpose in my life, but there's a first time for everything, right? This book had me questioning everything and everyone. But that’s why this book was so great. I had no clue what was going to happen and I just enjoyed the ride. Killian and Glyndon are such a different couple than others I’ve read in the past. The chemistry, obsession, and darkness between them never let me lose interest. If anything I was even more intrigued by their dynamic. The constant push and pull between them is addictive. There’s nothing like being obsessed with a literal psychopath in a book. Overall, I really enjoyed this book and I can’t wait for the rest of this series. I think this was a great introduction into this new/next generation series. Though I didn't read the first generation couples, I didn't feel like I was missing anything. I am, however, going to go back and read all of Rina’s backlist!

Me gustó bastante, lo devoré rápido, es de fácil lectura y muy adictivo, como todo lo de esta autora jejjeje.

Firstly I wanna say check for TW !! Also I know most of y'all are gonna be mad for certain topics and whatever but a dark romance isn't dark without those tropes even if they are brutal !! It was nicely done, I flew through it and all but it wasn't a 5 star for me only because there are way better books of this type and a lot of them by rina kent herself !! One thing I wanna say is that Rina Kent's books are the best to get you out of the reading slump!! And I kinda guessed the plot twist ( about Devlin ) way sooner like in the 4th chapter only that was kind of a disappointment but overall I liked it, don't trust my rating I give it very carefully I literally only have 3 or 4 books that are 5 star reads for me !! Anyways I wanna read this whole series soon !!

Lover of Romance 

I realized that I had forgotten to write a review for this one and felt like I definitely should get some thoughts in even if its not a long in depth review. I will say that this book was PURE MAGIC for me. I will be honest in that I have been struggling with Rina Kent of late. I have been wanting to love her stuff but just haven't gotten around to trying more. Well I had been seeing readers rave about "God of Malice" on Bookstagram, and I just decided to try her again and what do you know, this book was EVERYTHING I needed and more. I have never felt so touched by such an insane dark romance, it did remind me in some ways of"Untouchable" by Sam Mariano. 

God of Malice is a story that starts off with a non consent/dubious consent type of scene but somehow it works for me, don't ask me how but it was so crazy but I was in the mood for something so out of the world and bananas. I honestly adored seeing the way that this author cultivated this story. This features a psychological crazy hero haha so know what you are getting into. The heroine is just right for him, she knows exactly how to keep him in line. The way that she is able to connect with him and the bond that they are able to form was so wonderful. I enjoyed all the friendships that are built within this one, and I can't wait for the other books in the series. I hope time goes by fast so they get released quickly. 

Overall I found God of Malice to be a superb thrilling romance that curled my toes and I couldn't seem to get enough of.
