I hate that I know all these details about him. I wish I could be hit with amnesia so I can just forget him, his favorite drink, his wardrobe choices, and his entire malicious personality.

“You said the same thing the last time, but now she’s ended up in the hospital. Again. How many more times can you hide this before everyone knows that she⁠—”

I slam my hand over her mouth. “Shut the fuck up, Ariella. Don’t speak of it again, or I swear to fuck, if you prove to be a liability, I’ll keep you in the dark about any future plans.”

Eli places his hand on the roof inside the car to prevent me from hitting my head.

I’m neither desperate nor suicidal.” A hint of something unfathomable passes in his eyes as quick as lightning, and then they’re back to their status quo—aka an unreadable gray cloud.

My favorite, Marco, was shipped back to Italy on the first plane after he kissed me. He’s banned from the UK as we speak.

He looks down at me without his usual disregard and studies my face so intently, so lovingly, that if I were watching the scene from the outside, I’d mistake it for affection between a married couple. His touch burns, but his intense stare leaves me frozen. It’s like he’s searching for something.

“Stop being so sweet. I’m swooning, you guys.”

She grins and blushes, then attempts to fill her mouth with food.

Creigh raises a brow. “Get used to it.”

“I’m fine.” I pat her hand and pull away. “Now, tell me stories about the time I forgot. Did I make his life hell more than he made mine?”

“By miles,” Creighton says, his voice uncharacteristically darkening.

If she’d actually placed her lips anywhere near his vicinity, he would’ve been decapitated on the spot Middle Ages style.

No one will know the extent I had to go to for Ava to be this way right now. Even if it’s not permanent and is bound to be shredded to pieces, I’m happy to prolong this phase as long as possible before she forgets me.

She might not remember the episodes but she knows😭

As I watch her peaceful expression, I almost forget that I’m married to what’s societally known as a madwoman.

My jaw nearly hits the floor when I find Remi kissing a girl against the wall.

And it’s not just any girl. It’s my headache of a sister. Ari.

“Remi!” Ava shouts, but I can hear the suppressed laughter in her voice. “Are you blind, too?”

“No, I ain’t seen nothing. I ain’t seen nothing. Matter of fact, I’m blind in my left eye and forty-three percent blind in my right eye. I don’t see much of nothing. Matter of fact, I can’t even see you, sir.”

I know it's for the best but that just seems wrong on every level lol she will be so hurt if she finds out from anybody else but him

Can I take a moment to just squeal and jump, because hello, rina kent gave me my favorite hero in this series? 

God of war is the last and the sixth book in the legacy of gods series, all of them are stand alone, connected in the same world, you can read them in any order you like, there are tiny spoilers here and there, but if you don’t mind them, you should be good to read the books.

Characters : i) <s>Eli king — Eli is one of my favourite heroes from this series, this is my second book, though. Landon was good, but Eli tops the list for me. What do you mean, he made sure that she was not forced to go to a mental institution, made her feel like her life is hers, gave her everything she wanted, fought her parents, cecy, and Ariella when it came to her. Yeah, my man was down bad for ava. Also the fact that he did not pay her any attention when she was a kid, and confessed her feelings for him, but yearned for her so much throughout the book. I fucking love this man. Eli “my wife” king, always there for ava. 

Ava nash / king — Ava is so demure and perfect in the way she does not bend for Eli. No matter how much of a crush she harboured for him when she was a teenager. Her little ways to annoy eli, making sure all the women who are interested in him stay away as a revenge, also struting into his workplace in skimpy clothing, woman knows she has eli wrapped around her finger. Their dynamic was funny, refreshing, and so fun to read. I thought i’d hate eli because there was nothing redeemable until i finished the book, and then i couldn’t stop crying internally, because this man made sure his woman did not jump off the building, did not tell his parents that she had stabbed him in an attempt to get away, did not eat, did not sleep, when she was away, gave her the divorce papers because she threatened him with her life, and nothing was more previous than ava for him. She was indeed embedded deep within him. </s>

What I loved : the story, the plot, it was intriguing, and so interesting, the 3 AM stubborn streak of not sleeping was worth it! The characters, I loved leo, ava, cecily, and Aiden. The side character’s appearances was also good to read. 

Plot driven / character driven : plot driven.

Favorite quotes/ highlights : when Ava stabs eli for not letting her go, and accidentally hurting him, because she didn’t mean to. Eli acts composed, and cold, but runs when he thinks ava’s life could be in danger, also he lets her add color pink to his gray life. I love how whipped and pretty eli is. “my wife” references, yeah, eli you have my heart, as well as Ava’s. Sorry, ava. I’m more possessive than you. 

Any other details : god of war, indeed. This man would go to war for his wife. He does not do in betweens, and casual. This book is five stars, because everytime I read a rina kent book, the vocabulary is just so interesting. Please ma’am teach me more words. Those pink flowers on the cover are the reference for ava’s love for flowers in their home. And the color pink, because missy is so barbie coded and eli is ken coded, but make it dark. I love this book, and this universe. There’s something about a happy ending that is earned, this book felt like that. Eli was so careful, protecting, did not see her as broken, and that made me happy, because a man like eli, he would heal so many hearts of people out there. I loved him so much. He did not once made her feel like something was wrong with her, he took care of her in his own way. Even stayed away from her, because he thought his face triggered her, but made sure she was taken care of by the people around them. I’m even more excited for the other books in the series, and Jeremy and cecy’s story.

God of War is the finale to the Rinaverse and to this series "Legacy of Gods". God of War is the story for Eli and Ana. This is a story that I did have a hard time getting through the beginning for, I am not going to lie, so why did I rate this book a 6 star rating? Well because Rina Kent did the work on this one and it completely WON MY HEART. The complexity, the chemistry, the swoony warm feels that I got from this book just delivered in every way that I expect from a Rina Kent and more. I truly think that this is one of her best works! I have such a softness for a marriage in trouble type of set up and this marriage is definitely on the edge and the way that this was developed just fed my romantic heart in every way. Its not for the faint of heart, so be prepared for some tough tackled topics in this one.

Eli King is much like his father, Aiden King, only even more in control of his empire and has an edge to him not even his father has. But Ava has been in love with Eli since she was a young teenager and never truly fell out of love with him. But he has made her also hate him. Ava is the daughter of a man who despises Aiden King and absolutely has laid down the law that Eli is forbidden fruit....but sometimes the forbidden fruit is the best taste of all. But when she ends up in a accident and doesn't remember the last two years of her life and finds out she is married to Eli King, she doesn't know what to make of it. Only that he is controlling every aspect of her life, she feels herself spiraling but somehow Eli is able to be her anchor from the madness she fears will control her one day. But Eli has his own motivations, and when everything comes to light and out of the shadows....will their love survive?

Whew this book completely blew me away! I can't say what it was about this book that I loved the most, maybe what I was drawn to the most was their married connection? It had some similarities to one of her other books that kinda had a similar set up but ended up being completely different than I expect. How she was able to build this story in ONE book I have no clue, I could easily see her exploring this couple with a whole duo or even a trilogy. But loved that she kept it a bit more simple, as the complexity of the plot really worked out so well on it.

Eli and Ava are such a great pairing, once they got over the angst that they have for each other. For much of the book, you aren't sure of Eli's motivations and what is happening behind the scenes, and what happened in the past that Ava doesn't remember? But with each chapter, we get a glimpse into Eli's side of the story and I loved seeing his devotion to Ava even though he comes off as being the enemy, but in the end he ends up being the anchor that she will need. We also see another issue that gets well tackled...Ava is struggling with a mental illness and she hids it beneath the exterior of being this party barbie who loves everything pink and lives for playing her cello. I didn't know what to make of Ava, to be honest, she isn't really my type of heroine. I am glad that I stuck with this book, because in the beginning I was really turned off by her character. But I can say that I loved what we see in her character in the end. I also was fascinated to see what the secrets would be and the author really delivers on these and times it in such a way that really builds up the tension when it needs to be.

The beginning is a struggle, work through the first few chapters and you will be SOLD. I guarantee it.

I did the last 1/3 of this book in audio and I can highly recommend it in audio, it was superb in every way. She had some amazing narrators do the work for this one here.

Okay I LOVED that book????? It's my favorite one next to Nikolai and Brandon's. These two books are just superior. (I'm not talking about ranking the couples itself tho because that's way too difficult haha)

I saw so many bad reviews about him not being as caring with Creighton anymore or not being funny. But that book was actually the funniest book in the entire Legacy of God's series??? I laughed so many times which is impressive considering how sad the topics made me. Also he was still hugging Creighton everytime he saw him. And that little paragraph about how he would do anything to protect him?? He clearly loves his brother so much and he was exactly the Eli we always saw.

Ava's struggles surprised me because I had no clue how serious it was but she was such a badass considering everything. She is really the strongest person ever. When Bran said she had the saddest love story of all, he really meant it. I am in awe how she handeled everything. How
