i'm saying it again, i fucking regret that i avoided this book before. it's been so long since i'm hooked to ONE book and finish it within a day. 

the duet is getting better, the plot is getting spicier. i kept wondering about aurora's terrorist and the impostor, i even suspected harris! (forgive me, harris) because he's the only one who blatantly obvious about his dislike over aurora's existence, which actually SO loyal of him to jonathan that he even background checked her because he didn't trust her around jonathan!!!! 

ALSO MY MAN KYLE INTRODUCTION IN THIS BOOK???? SHOULD'VE READ THIS FIRST. he made me giggle and shit every time he made an appearance. he's SO SEXY in everything he does and that's an ABSOLUTE FACT. 

this book flipped my perspective about jonathan (that's what rk always do, though, flipping the reader's perspective on her character in their own book), but the most shocking thing? HE IS SOOOO HOPELESSLY A ROMANTIC!!! saying "indeed" every time aurora asks "it's beautiful, isn't it" about a scenery WHILST LOOKING AT HER??? MELT. BURNED. LIQUIFIED. his silent concert over aiden and levi though!!!!! ANDDDD the soft side of aiden for jonathan is UNBEARABLY HEART-WARMING. the fact that HE CARES about JONATHAN'S OPINION AND VALIDATION AND COMPLIMENT ARGHHHH. the king clan is climbing and following below the volkov clan in my favourite family list!!!!

and last but not least, the ending twist! as i mentioned earlier, the book kept me wondering about the actual impostor.. and the actual impostor was unpredictable!!!! though it could be stronger, but at least it's unpredictable. but over all, the story is pretty creative and the twist is pretty good. i noticed that rk's duets and trilogies are better written than her series. though i love every books she writes and characters. rk, you will always have a special space in me.

Me gustó muchísimo a pesar de que hubieron cosillas que no me convencieron del todo. Creo que me gustó más que algunos de los libros de la saga principal, quizás sea porque los personajes son más adultos. 

Repito lo de siempre, estos libros no son para todo el mundo. Y te puede gustar más o menos, lo que no se puede negar es que la autora es capaz de engancharte a sys libros aunque tengan su punto cliché. Me estoy leyendo casi todos sus libros jejeje así de adictiva es su pluma.

Every good thing about Aurora was ruined by this book, in the last one she was determined and strong but in this book, she was idiotic and easy to manipulate.
I was a little disappointed.
The ending was rushed and I didn't understand, it gives us a lot and so little at the same time that it's so frustrating

Lover of Romance 

Rise of a Queen is the second book in the duo series here and it pretty much kicks off right after the ending of the first book. I do recommend that you do need to read the first book. I was really intrigued by this book because there are elements of a psychological thriller and suspenseful elements because there are hints that the hero poisoned her sister, and her father is trying to come after her, and she is having to have these trust issues, and there are things happening where the heroine believes that she is going crazy (literally) because her sister had episodes and now there is this belief that she is seeing things that aren't there. So there is this level of intensity that really builds within this story. The relationship is pushed to the limits but at the same time there is so much heart that is developed in this one. I was so fascinated to see where the author was taking their relationship, and we see so many facets into the hero's character as well and seeing him as a redeemable character. There is a sense of family connection and rebuilding bridges that I truly enjoyed. I really am so glad that I picked up this duo series because I wasn't sure if this author would work for me, I do think moving forward her books are either going to be a hit or miss for me. But I am happy that I found a couple of books from this author that I just so quickly fell in love with. Now finally I want to say that this book left me in all of my feels and had such a satisfying ending to the twist in the end.

This was an incredibly satisfying conclusion to Jonathan and Aurora’s story. Every thread is woven together, every question is answered and you are left with this feeling of pure warmth in your heart.

We get to see the vulnerable side of Jonathan and I MELTED. Rina has written the perfect dominant, possessive anti hero that is so caring underneath the surface. You never thought you could see Jonathan King as the man who loves so damn hard but am I really surprised he’s just as fierce in his love than he is in every other area of his life? Absolutely not. With his passion, protectiveness that is over the line into psychotic yet somehow endearing you have no choice but to obsess over the man his character has become.

Aurora is one tough broad. Punch after punch, blow after blow, she continues to push forward. If it wasn’t for her bravery so many secrets would’ve never been uncovered. Her desire for justice keeps her pure in the darkest of scenarios. Once she gets through the struggle of seeing this within herself she is free. Aurora’s tenacity and strength is addicting, locking you into this plot line and consistently feeding your own need for knowledge.

Rise of a Queen brings these two beautifully broken souls together in a bond that makes your heart twist, your blood sizzle and your breathe catch. Rina Kent ended this duet in her classic WTF style that keeps us so invested in her writing. This is a full conclusion but she’s linked in new characters that snatch just enough of your interest to make you ponder without detracting from the plot line. Brilliant ending.

Rise of a Queen is a good conclusion in the Kingdom duet series. We pick right where we left off from in Reign of a king and see Aurora trying to navigate being thrown in the spotlight once again and having to deal with her father. I liked seeing Aurora interact with Elsa, wished there were more scenes with them. Loved Layla's and Aurora's friendship, wished there was more interaction between Layla's family and Aurora, here's hoping Layla gets her own book. Overall a good ending.
