Reviews

cole nash was made for me i fear. silvercole how i love u so. plot twists went CRAZY, actually jaw dropping for me. i cannot come to terms this is the end of the series ill cry now.

so disappointed ??? i think this is the worst book i've ever read in my life. even the smut was bad

the perfect ending to this amazing series LONG LIVE COLE AND SILVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don’t know about you but they’re THE couple to beat! Chemistry from the get go is offffff the roof! The forbidden aspect! The mystery! The plot twist! Aaaaaah the best way to end this series!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

omfg this was amazing, cole pls do ANYTHING TO ME. the doll master scared the shit out of me, BUT THAT PLOT TWIST omg- also eliava on the epilogue 😭😭😭😭😭 this was amazing - "I want to be your first. "My first in what?" "In everything, Butterfly." "Then I want your firsts, too." "Promise me." "Promise." - "Chaos. My entire body sharpens whenever she's in my vicinity. It's been getting more noticeable over the years. Every time she's there, I have this urge to get up, grab her, and take her. somewhere. Anywhere." - "When I grow old and my memory starts demanding to delete files to be able to remember others, I'd choose her stupid journal over books by philosophers and psychologists any day. Chaos. She's fucking chaos" - "Here's the thing, Butterfly, I can't stop." "Why not?" "Because you're my chaos, and I can't survive without chaos." "I'm chaos?" "The worst of all. The most beautiful of all. And you know what? You might as well be the deadliest." - "Is there anything you don't think through?" "You." "M-me?" "You're the only thing I've never been able to think through." "Because I'm your chaos?" "Because you're the reason I look forward to new days." - "Silver is my chaos. She's the first person I saw after all that blood, and for that reason alone, she's associated with it. She's not supposed to be my calm. And yet, when her head falls on my back and her warmth mingles with mine, I realise she's the only calm I've ever had in my life. Even books don't compare and that says something. Silver is the beauty and the ugliness. The calm and the chaos." - "You barged into my life and invaded my space and now. now look at this mess!" "I barged in?" "I did it? How about you? Why the fuck did you have to be here that day? Why did you jump me, push me to the bench, and cry your glitter tears on me? Why did you refuse to let me go and promise me your firsts? If you want to blame anyone, blame yourself. You made me obsessed with you to the point I can't fucking breathe until I see you." - "Silver's not only chaos, she's also a goddess. The type everyone can watch from afar, but I'm the only one who gets to worship at her altar. The one who gets to own every inch of her." - "Can't you see what it'll do to us? It can destroy everything." "Well, here's the thing, Butterfly." "I don't mind selfdestructing if it's with you." - "What if I always feel this.. this loss." "Then we'll feel it together." "What do you mean?" "I told you, you're not the only one responsible for this. Your pain is my pain, Butterfly." - "Cole got the tattoo I chose for him and it's even more beautiful than I imagined. The skin around it is red due to how fresh it is, but the design is clear. It's an open book with tendrils of smoke coming out and on top of it, written in a neat font is the word 'CHAOS. "It's so beautiful," "Stay there, I still haven't gotten my fill." I remain in place, swallowing at the intense way he's examining my tattoo. It's a butterfly. And not just any butterfly. Cole sketched something that's identical to the butterfly pin I wore that day ten years ago in the park." - "Go home, Silver." "What are you doing?" "You told me to go home. You're my home, Cole." - "You'll haunt me?" "Yes, I will. You know why?" "Why?" "Because I love you, Cole. I've been in love with you since you found me in the park that day and pulled my hair and told me you wanted my firsts. I've loved you more through the years, and I hated every time I had to face the reality that I couldn't be with you" "I thought you hated me." "That was my way of saying I love you." "You're so weird." "Not more than you. You've been a dick to me for a long time." "That's because I wanted you to stay interested in me. To never get tired of me. I beat you in everything just to see that fire in your eyes as you challenged me for a rematch. I beat you to keep you coming back to me." "Really?" "Really. I might have been in love with you for as long as you've been in love with me." - "When he demanded my firsts, I saved them for him. In return, he saved me his. We're each other's everything." - "I'm that obsessed with this woman. Addicted to her. Fucking in love with her and the beautiful chaos she brings to my life." - "Our story might not have started in the best way possible, but we wouldn't have it any other way. Silver is mine and I'm hers. In the past. In the present. In the future. Always."

THE PLOTTWISTS? HELEN? DOLL MASTER? WILLIAM? ADAM? ugh, so good.

I'm an addict.

Introduction
Ruthless Empire is the 6th installment and this is where we finally get Cole's book and it was much more twisted than I actually expected from him. But I definitely enjoyed it in every single way! I had such a job reading this one, and it was so intense at times. But if you are a fan of bully romance or new adult romance with a step sibling twist, then you definitely need to grab this one up. Rina Kent definitely delivered on Cole's book and I was so entranced by their connection and all that twisted angst that this author handles so beautifully.
Summary
In Ruthless Empire, we have the beginning of he romance between Cole and Silver. Cole and Silver have known each other for a long time since they were children. This is a story that delivers with Cole being one of the four horseman at Royal Elite and with our heroine being the "Queen B" but it also protrays so much more depth. Now Silver is technically engaged to Aiden, but there is a dark connection between Cole and Silver. And he is determined to show Silver whom she belongs to. But when their parents decide to get married, another layer of forbidden enters their relationship. There is some a intensity that really blows some of the previous books out of the water on this and shows a sense of redemption and longing that was so captivating.
My Outlook
Ruthless Empire is the last official book of the "Royal Elite" series. Part of me is so sad to know that the series is over. There is a epilogue book and I will read that one but now we finally have Cole's book. It took me a while to realize the connection between Cole and Silver from the previous books. And yeah loved the redemption and seeing the other side to these two here and their story. There were elements to this story that don't always work for me. However, in this one, it just worked so completely and I was completely on board with it.
Now one aspect that might throw some readers off is the "step sibling" connection. Now keep in mind this happens after they kinda get in a relationship somewhat. They are both 17 when their parents decide to get married. Now even though there is this family connection, it didn't really bother me that much, just the way it was written, Rina Kent really worked it so it was written in a way that worked for this pairing.
Now the romance itself is super angsty, so keep that in mind as you read this one. I definitely love it for sure, and just couldn't seem to get enough. I just adored their entanglements and seeing them work through their issues. But also to see the other side to these characters was superb in every way. I definitely loved seeing the way in which we see another side to them. There is a deep level of domination and control in their relationship, but it comes together so well.
Overall View
I found Ruthless Empire to be a satisfying finale that was so brilliantly written. Rina Kent has delivered again and I can't wait to delve into the epilogue and return to all the favorites!

This is by far my favorite out of this series. I was obsessed with both the main characters and the plot twists. I guessed the plot twist but it took me so long and honestly it was so unexpected I thought I was just insane to even think about it.

childhood frenemies to lovers but make it INSANE <3

My next favorite to aidenelsa. <3 They are AMAZING.

Wow. Rina truly threw me for a head fuck of a loop, in the best way, with Ruthless Empire. Cole and Silver are both not who you think they are, at all and I loved it. They wear their masks so well but they can’t hide from each other. They can’t hide from their problems and they sure as hell can’t hide from their attraction. Silver, oh sweet Silver. You never thought you’d read that huh? She is everything you want and more in a heroine. She’s fiery, loyal and combustible. Silver holds on to her persona so tight it’s a miracle she hasn’t cracked. The amount of pressure she’s been under since a child is immense. Her character growth throughout her story is dynamic and heart breaking, a undercover people pleaser to the core she easily sneaks her way into your heart and shatters it before you even realize it. The boys may by the Four Horsemen but she is truly the Queen. Now Cole... that boy! He is a drop dead sexy enigma. Dominant and kinky yet thoughtful and nerdy. A swoon worthy, homegrown borderline psychopath (Yes, I just used the words swoon worthy and psychopath in the same sentence.) dealing with a darkness that will swallow him whole if he lets it. But he doesn’t. Cole likes to lock his emotions inside but it’s only because he doesn’t know how to let go enough. He’s trapped in his own love for silence, so much of his time spent observing everyone but not himself. He also grows tremendously through out this along side Silver, a lot of their growing is together since they were children. Rina wove a web of complete shock in this stellar conclusion of the Royal Elite Series. Each one of these stories has held me captive but she ended it with one of the biggest, unsuspected bangs I’ve ever read. I don’t think I have gripped by kindle so tight as I did while reading the last 10 percent. I held my breath time and time again. Ruthless Empire ties up every scene, every POV and every thread of the mysteries scattered through out in a seamlessly, beautifully tragic way. I highly recommend binging this ASAP.

Totally shocked on that huge twist in Ruthless Empire (Royal Elite #6) by Rina Kent. That is crazy and no way did I see that coming. Her imagination is awesome and twisted. Love it all. I have been curious about Cole and Silver since Deviant King #1 and been teased through out the series. It was so nice to see what was actually happening at certain moments with them during the earlier books. It was perfect and never felt like a retelling. The cutest epilogues Highly Recommend * Dark New Adult * Step Siblings * Forbidden Romance * Enemies To Lovers * Bully Romance * Angsty Romance

There's freedom in chaos Ruthless Empire is the last book in the Royal Elite series and follows Cole and Silver who have known each other since childhood and have a mutual 'dislike' for each other. I really liked how Silver was written and the subplot surrounding the villain but felt the reveal could have been better. Their romance was also really cute and soft, would definitely recommend. ARC given in exchange for honest review

OH MY GAWDD!!! I dont even know what to say other than to read this book. Its fire. Amazing. Leaves you on the edge of your seat. Deserves 1000 stars

If for nothing else this book gets 5 stars for that TwisT, because I was SHooK and did NOT see that coming! But it also gets 5 in general since I loved them ✋

** spoiler alert ** Parts of this book were 5 stars for me, but other parts were so bad it brought down the whole rating. 1. I don’t like that there is such a big focus on conservatism. It plays no meaningful role. Like she brings it up when she has sex before marriage and about possibly having an abortion. But there seems to be no self awareness. Like Silver is saying that she abandoned her values by having sex but other than that statement it means nothing to her. She is supposed to be a representative of the party but decides the rules don’t apply to her while still judging others for not following the rules. A self aware person would think “maybe sex before marriage doesn’t make you a bad person” but instead seems to see herself as the exception. And I know she doesn’t explicitly say promiscuity makes you a terrible person, but she alludes to the fact that that is a cornerstone of the party, and also talks about how strongly she believes in and aligns herself with the Conservative party. So basically what I’m saying is that her conservatism does nothing for her character development and does nothing more than cause mild apprehension and guilt for her. So there’s really just no meaningful reason for it to be so prominent in the book other than because the author wants to promote it. Along those same lines, it feels very strange to have pro-birth propaganda shoved in my face while I’m reading smut. Same with the promiscuity. She thinks abortion is straight up murder but also thinks that it’s okay for her to do it because she has a good reason. I think it would have made for very interesting character development if she realized that maybe other people have abortions because they also have circumstances that make it necessary. But once again she just sees herself as the exception. I also would have been fine with her sticking to her beliefs and saying that no matter what she would NEVER have one, even if it ruined her fathers career and her life. Instead we just once again get a completely oblivious hypocrite. 2. I’m not okay with explicit scenes involving minors. I don’t understand why the story had to take place while they were children. Let me clarify. I really liked that the story started when they were 8 and that it was built up over 10 years. But all of that could have been put in without an explicit fingering scene that took place while they were minors. They fact that they were in highschool was completely irrelevant to the story. They easily could have been in college and it would have changed nothing. 3. BIG SPOILER! I do not like the way they handled Helen’s mental illness. It seems like she had DID due to severe sexual trauma she experienced as a child. This further stigmatizes DID and mental illness. That aside, they just decided her life no longer mattered. Yeah she killed Coles father, because he was horribly abusive to her. But in the end he’s painted as the victim and she’s the bad guy. She was still coles loving mother for his whole life and I don’t think he should have just decided she basically was never his mother because she was deeply struggling with mental illness. Her story is a tragedy. It doesn’t excuse anything she did, but for him to KNOW she was the way she was because of severe trauma and that she was having a mental break, and just not care. Like that should have affected him more. It seems like bad writing for it not to. Even if he came to the conclusion that he could never forgive her that would have been fine, but it’s like he didn’t even have to think about it. 4. Also when Cole finds out about Adam and he BLAMES Silver for it. And everyone just acts like that’s okay. It’s never addressed that he was being unreasonable. Talk about victim blaming. He accused her of allowing it to continue because she liked the attention and she just basically agrees with him even though it wasn’t true at all. And he acts like it’s her fault Adam hurt Elsa and everyone else agrees. Due to all of this, I have to give the book 1 star. Even though there were parts I really enjoyed and at one point I really thought this was going to be a 5 star read.

This book. This book is just amazing. YOU NEED TO READ IT. I’ve been waiting for silver and Cole’s story for so long and honestly it did not disappoint. It had Everything I needed. And the epilogue was amazing. Cole and silver are ENDGAME. 10000% recommend
