A disappointment. Will give it until issue #3.

Wow. Didn't like the series overall. Up until now it was bad. Really bad. I wasn't interested at anything that's been happening and was just reading for the heck of it, basically because I liked Silk over at the Spider-Verse event and the way Slott intruduced her to us. Basically I loved the character's origin and personality on Spider-Verse. That's the main reason I started her solo ongoing too. But, turned out I didn't like any of it. Artwork was good. But the story was not interesting for me. At all. Too much drama and the Silk I was reading when she first appeared was a badass and not this girl who's scared and worry all the time. Now that I got all that out, here comes the #6 issue of the series to change it all... I mean, I was ready to start reading all bored to get it out of the way to read something else, and I was hooked on page 2. And it kept going better and better. I was even satisfied with the ending and can't wait for next issue. Silk is being held captive and ready to get cut to pieces and sold. I'm not going to spoil anything, but it was SO worth it to go through 2-3 mediocre issues and 1-2 bad issues. I mean, Thompson did wonders. Had me reading like crazy until the end. I really don't know if I would recommend the volume or not, it's up to you if you like the character. But that last issue was VERY good.

What a great, brilliant ending! You should definitely get the volume. You should first read Spider-Man's "SPIDER-VERSE" event, and then read Silk's volume. (because she was first appeared in Spider-Verse, no other reason.. oh wait-- yes.. and she's a badass). This issue wraps things up really great. She's such a strong character. No matter her flaws and problems and really REALLY screwed up life and all the bad situations she gets into, she's so powerful. She's simply awesome. No matter what she doesn't give up. She complains a lot, but she's not giving up and that shows in like, not a cliché way at all (like billions of other characters). So in the Last Days of Silk... we get the Secret Wars event catching up to her, meaning the world's ending so she just wants to be with family, family that she was searching all this time, after being locked up in a bunker for all of her life, so we find out if Silk has any chance of finding any member of her family to reunite. Plus.. the art was amazing. 10/10. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Congratulations to the whole team of making an amazing story with a great end! I hope we get more Silk after the event.

This was cute. Not a big fan of the illustration change though.

I thought I finished this run a while back, but I found I had two more issues. Still like the artwork and the snark of Cindy Moon!

Ok, this issue of Silk could have been a 4 stars, even a 5 stars but is instead a 3.5 stars because of the following issues: 1) I'm not a massive fan of Tana Ford's art. It's not awful or anything, but I wasn't overly fond of it. I truly loved Ian Herring's coloring though. Other things I loved were Yasmine Putri & Helen Chen's respective variant covers. There were drop dead stunning. 2) THIS ISSUE WAS CONFUSING AS HELL. I'm always wary of crossover events because if you don't read all of the titles involved in said event, it gets well... confusing AF. Since I'm new to the spiderverse - Silk is actually the first title in the spiderverse I've ever read -, I have yet to become familiar with Spider-Women Alpha, Spider-Gwen & Spider-Woman. 3) This very fact coupled with time / inter-dimension travel occurring between issues and the premises get befuddling. Thankfully the little blurb on page 5 was pretty enlightening. It's just not the best way to open a brand new arc in my opinion. That being said, it was fun learning about Cindy's Earth-65 counterpart & how she's (presumably?) a villain! It was also great that Cindy got to see her family, even if it's not truly hers. Also, I laughed out loud at "Agents of S.I.L.K.". Overall, the pace was good & i liked the overall plot of this issue, I just wished the premises hadn't been so damn confounding.
