Robert Greene's a very talented writer & I love the interpretations he has on a multitude of stories and historical events. With a multitude of seducer types and victims & having difficulty forming a coherent worldview for applying the wisdom from this book, I did find some common themes throughout each of the types. Seduction -> can happen on an intellectual, spiritual and physical front. -> Yes! I did mean intellectual & spiritual. The most noteworthy seductions are ones that can be long-lasting -> in which the physical plane has difficulty charming after youth has passed. It's the spiritual and intellectual plane that's much more generous with time. Whatever plane one chooses -> Greene shows example after example of historical figures using these avenues to seduce others. What astonished me was how varied in personality and tropes these figures were from typical male and female archetypes. Fundamentals such as: Vagueness in speech(to promote imagination), amplifying body language, playing with verbal frequencies, adding layers of spirituality, using physical touch appropriately were themes I found common. Creating space to allow "victims" to begin idealizing you, after you've spent enough attentive time with them, was also common among the many types of seducers. Greene leaves it to the reader to determine the specifics on all this, but gives hints on when to continue/stop.

A lot less engaging towards the end

Con: A long read and not the easiest, due to ample examples repeating themselves over and over again.
Pro: An edgy vibe to it, based on the chapters, phases and examples. Promotes awareness of the feminine and Seductive inner qualities.

What separates the Sex Siren way, as from the courtesan or whore is her touch of innocence and vulnerability. The mix is perversely satisfying: it gives the male the critical illusion that he is a protector, the father figure, although it is actually the Sex Siren who controls the dynamic.
