For use in schools and libraries only. Struggling to unite his nations for the battle that would release the Dark One into their world, Rand al'Thor is unaware of the White Tower leader's plans to silence his efforts.

Lord of Chaos

Rand al'Thor, the Dragon Reborn, strives to bind the nations of the world to his will, to forge the alliances that will fight the advance of the Shadow and to ready the forces of Light for the Last Battle. But there are other powers that seek to command the war against the Dark One. In the White Tower the Amyrlin Elaida sets a snare to trap the Dragon, whilst the rebel Aes Sedai scheme to bring her down. And as the realms of men fall into chaos the immortal Forsaken and the servants of the Dark plan their assault on the Dragon Reborn . . .

Classic WoT formula for me. Reading fast at the beginning because you get small increments in each story and then can't put it down towards the end as it all comes to a head. Really enjoyed the reunion scenes, give you a real sense of the characters different individual journeys.

Book Six of 'The Wheel of Time'

3.5 Stars. As usual the first 600 pages were slow but still excellent world/character building, the last 400ish were non-stop action. Love.

Politics! Politics everywhere!
Not sure what book y’all read, but I felt the progression of plot via the characters being pushed towards who and where they need to be.
A slow read and not my absolute favorite, but Lord of Chaos has some of my favorite scenes and I enjoy Jordan’s pacing even though this one was a little awkwardly handled. The last chunk picked up and held as much stress as I can handle for these characters who have become apart of me — I definitely do not mind the slower parts in contrast to that! I am looking forward (and dreading) to see where they will all be in the end.

Not my favourite but holy heck that ending was something

I really enjoyed this despite it not having my favorite character. It started out a bit slow but I felt like it picked up a lot by the second half. Really enjoyed the focus on the Aes Sedai.

Quite a few slog moments, but overall this is by far one of my top 3 is this series so far. A lot of extra pages with seemingly useless info (we’ll see if it pays off) but sooooo much progression with a lot of the characters and the various plot lines in general.

I have fun imagining when and how the various character lines will cross again, and most them them are great in this book.

Loving Nynaeve’s skill progression in this one. Epic Egwene moment as well with her being raised up. Elayne is still a brat and I like her less here. I wish Mat had more progression in this but I still enjoy him as one of my favs. Maybe becoming a ‘dad’ will change him LOL

Happy to see Loial again though he is taking a backseat role for the most part. Perrin is dope still. Many people consider him boring but I like him a lot. A little underwhelmed with Min’s vision of his 2 birds fighting cause the 2 birds in his life are meh right now. Faile is frustratingly annoying with her passive aggressiveness, hate her most of the time but Perrin makes me tolerate.

Rand’s progress has gone beyond annoyance with me and I’m enjoying seeing what’s going to happen next as he gets to understand his role and carves his path to Tarmon Gai’din. A lot of jumping around and stupidity but I get why it’s there.

I also appreciate many of the secondary characters now. Sulin, Taim, etc etc etc

Maybe I'm just burning out on the series, or maybe it's that I read this aloud to the family at a time when we had lots of interruptions that slowed us down and made it take a long time to get through the book, but I found this one less satisfying than the others so far. Maybe it would've seemed a better book to me if I'd read it over the course of a week instead. It doesn't help that I'm not even at the midpoint of the series yet and this one felt sort of meh. I'm taking a break from the series to try some other stuff for a while, and I'm not sure I'll come back to the series, as I've heard that some of the later books get sort of re-hashy.
