The final instalment in one of my favourite murder mystery series I've been reading since aged 13/14. This one, like "All aboard for murder" is directly inspired by an Agatha Christie book, like "All aboard for murder" where inspiration stems from "Murder on the Orient Express". In this case, this book is based on "Death on the Nile". The only similarities are the setting - the fact that someone gets murdered on a boat sailing across the Nile, and of course the time in which it's set.

I think this was good, but my favourites are still "All aboard for murder" and "A spoonful of murder". Anyway, the characters are just as complex as ever, and the mystery is hard to crack. As someone who reads a lot of crime and murder mystery books, not being able to guess the ending is important for me.

First loves, an Egyptian cruise down the Nile, Hazel's father and two little sisters where irrepressible six-year-old May steals every scene!, the Junior Pinkertons Alexander and George, a horribly bloody body, everything we need for a Murder Most Unladylike adventure. I will miss them!

The last in the series! Even though I could have read piles and piles of books about Daisy and Hazel, this was a fitting send-off. Look forward to seeing what Ms Stevens does next (and to reading Cream Buns & Crime and Once Upon a Crime to get my Wells and Wong fix in between).
