Educated in Vienna, he entered business, but in 1842 went on the stage, and from 1849 to 1876 resided in Dresden, where he was especially success ful in old servant roles. Ether mus: beira/en appeared in 1850, and under the title of Luslspzble there were published four additional volumes of his comedies from 1853 to 1860. Failing health compelled him to seek a more genial climate in Tyrol; he died at Meran in 1877.361: 9130367.
