I’m obsessed. I need more sapphic, spicy novellas about rich women who spoil and worship their girls. I hate myself for having this gem on my tbr for a few months and never reading it until now.


About the story. The novella tells the story of Alice, a New York dancer, who one day attracts the attention of a secret admirer who watches her perform and then suddenly disappears. However, the mysterious person does not remain so for long because Alice discovers her identity. Cora Carter-Price, a wealthy businesswoman, has been obsessed with Alice since she first saw her, and couldn't help but come and watch her. Two women begin a romance, but can it survive when they are from two different worlds?

I love the characters, the vibes, the setting. My only problem was that Cora was married, but the novel was set in a time when that was expected of her as an influential wealthy woman. Don't worry, she doesn't have any feelings for her husband and it's almost like they're separated. She and Alice have a happy ending, or at least the author assures readers that they will.


Most importantly. Can I have a rich woman who is obsessed with me and wants me all to herself? 


  
    "She’d been getting flowers every day for a while now, and had been forced to give away the older bouquets just to make room for the new arrivals."
  


Who gives me tons of expensive flowers and wants to spoil me with expensive gifts. 


  
    “How about it, honey?” Alice whispered into her hair. “Are you ready?”
  


Who calls me 'honey’.


  
    "Mrs. Carter-Price visibly wrestled with herself before she said, in a low voice, “I want you.” 
The words sent a crazy shock of heat through Alice. It was her turn to close her eyes. 
“No one else,” Mrs. Carter-Price rasped. Alice opened her eyes again, to see Mrs. Carter-Price’s gaze burning right into her. 
“No more dinners with those men, no more dancing unless it’s on that stage. Do you understand? I don’t care what people think if you stay single. Explain it away however you want.”
  


Who wants me all to herself. And who plans to make my future brighter. 

Also, the intimate scene were amazing. I was sweating and blushing and kicking my feet. I loved that the story didn’t jump straight into it, but there was a backstory about them and a build up to it. The anticipation is always the best part.


I'm so happy I decided to read it. I can't wait to try other stories by this author.
