I really liked that this explored, minimally, the sisters relationship, and what it entails to be forced into something you didn't choose for yourself, I wished we had a little bit more, and like sooner in the book to see a true change of their dynamics with their new reality. It would have also been nice to see more their parents, they were funny buffers, but... yeah. 

I'm all for slow-burn but this truly didn't feel like one, like it felt really sudden the attraction from Daisy and I think they needed to have more moments together that felt more significant and like actually getting to know Miles, he was tooooooooo mysterious that I ended this book not really knowing him. 

The royals were really interesting but honestly Alex is my fave, but who knows after Flora's book, I think what they next book has in favor is not only the royal aspect but the family dynamics of it all.

Maybe it’s just because I’m 22yo but this is two YA for me, I think I’ve just outgrown my YA contemporary romance phase. For someone maybe younger than 18yo maybe this book would’ve been entertaining, but it just wasn’t it for me.

A causa di un piccolo incidente Daisy sarà costretta a rinunciare alla sua estate perfetta per trascorrerla in Scozia con sua sorella e con la famiglia reale venendo così catapultata in un mondo da cui avrebbe preferito tenersi alla larga.
Ed è qui, in Scozia, che incontra Seb, Miles e il resto dei Casinisti Reali, pronta a vivere un'estate ricca di sorprese. 

Mi sono imbattuta in questo libro per caso, cercavo qualcosa di leggero, divertente e non troppo pretenzioso ed è proprio ciò che è questo libro. Una commedia romantica originale per il suo genere, con una storia d'amore non scontata.
Lo stile è divertente e non si prende troppo sul serio, d'altronde è narrato dal punto di vista di una "normale" adolescente americana. 
Questo libro mi ha aiutato ad uscire dal blocco del lettore e mi ha tenuto compagnia in questo periodo un po' morto.
Sarebbe bello vederlo in una trasposizione cinematografica soprattutto per l'ambiente suggestivo in cui è ambientata la storia, la Scozia.

4.5/5 stars!! the characters are all hilarious (and the boys are charming and straight outta fan fiction). this is the kinda book that 14 year old me would have adored AND 23 year old me LOVES! 

i feel like this would make a lovely beach read as it’s incredibly warm but the number of little surprises keep it v fresh and exciting! i am SO EXCITED to read the sequel!

Okay listen. I thought this was going to be okay. Just a solid okay but I actually really really liked it!!! I got really nervous at the end that it was going to end super super dumb as there were like four pages left but nooo it was PERFECT. Basically while reading/listening to this I feel like I was just watching The Princess Diaries or The Prince and Me..but like almost backwards? With hot Scottish men instead? #umyesplease

Nothing happened in this book. I can probably retell the story in one not so long paragraph.
The characters were okay even though their development was kind of sporadic, the tabloid bits and cultural references were not bad. The plot is full of cliches and random actions that don't lead anywhere; reads like a bad fanfiction book.

I thought this was the prefect summer read. I reminded me a lot of the princess daries and I really loved the world that was created and also the new boy we met. I also loved the side characters. I just wish I felt more connected to the characters overall. It was such a fun read and i def really loved Miles a lot. I also loved the use of newspaper articles that was used to accent the novel. I will def be checking out book 2!

It is what it says on the tin! A cutesy teen romance with royals mixed in. I liked all the characters and the writing was standard. I wanted more of the Scottish setting. And the whole thing was pretty shallow plot/arc-wise. If you are looking for deep and thinky, this isn’t the book. If you want simple and fun, full of cliches and a good time, this is your book!

I wasn't a fan of this book at all. I really wanted to love it because i adore plots like this however i was NOT a fan of the romance or any of the characters for that matter. They all just kind of fell flat for me. The main character annoyed me more than anything, as did everyone in her family to be honest. I honestly didn't even know where they were half the time unless they brought up a castle or landmark. Going back to the romance, it just felt very off and rushed. on top of that i felt like they didn't have any chemistry. Everything felt so predictable and that probably effected my enjoyment.

This is the first book I read from Rachel Hawkins and it was very entertaining. 

Before getting into my review I’ll say if you have not read it; and just want to have an idea before you pick it up be aware that this is not plot or character driven, is not a read that will make you have any type of personal grow. The plot is a love story between teenager girls and royal boys, as simple as that. Also if you're a history geek remember that all is fictional and the writer has creative rights to do what she pleases without trying to offend anyone. Lastly if you're a diverse literature advocate this is not you book, just skip it. You have been warned alright, don’t try to judge this work as if it’s supposed to be an intricate high fantasy story.

I really don’t have much to say about the book, time flew while reading it and it was fun. I found this type of story to be good for someone that is getting into a reading slump or if you just finished a really thick and traumatizing book or series and don’t feel like picking any other read ever in your life. 

Our main character is really likable, she is funny-sarcastic no matter the situation. Daisy is mature enough to break up with a jerk of a boyfriend and keep going with her life and also think about her best friend well-being, but more than anything I love her name if I ever have a daughter I’ll name her that. 

Ellie on the other hand was not my favorite. She is so good and perfect, but such a horrible sister. I just wanted her out of the picture the whole time. She was definitely the HM Sharpay of the story (I want it all~). By the end of the book I grew a little fond of her, but just a teeny tiny bit. (I do want a see a royal wedding tho)

The Romance was fluffy and swoony. It got my heart racing a couple of times, when they finally kissed I felt something flutter in my stomach and all it ended ala happily ever after. Which is why I was surprised when I read that there was going to be a second book; it worried me for a second, but I quickly learned that she is planning on doing linked books just like Stephanie Perkins or Abbi Glines, honestly I’m not mad about it. Like I said before I want to see if there will be a royal wedding, because that Queen of Scots it such a "bish". I’m definitely reading the next book when it comes out, if I’m not wrong it will be about Princess Flora and I liked her better than Ellie.

I've been eagerly awaiting this book ever since I started reading Hawkin's Sexy History Tweet threads, and wow this does not disappoint! Congrats to the author on both a rolickin' fun, sassy story and its very timely publication! 

I had such a blast reading this delightful treasure, and I can't wait for you all to read it too!

This was definitely a quick read for me, I enjoyed the story, although at some points I did feel it was lacking something, just missing the spot a little. Maybe it was because I was going into it expecting something like the Princess Diaries.

There was just something about the characters that made me feel a little underwhelmed. Daisy honestly worked on my nerve and it was like the author wanted certain characters to be over the top if she wanted them to be rude, she pushed the boundaries same goes for if she wants them to be nice. 

I felt that there were some things that just didn’t really make sense, especially the way Miles had to jump no matter what, and some parts just does not really flow well, the story was at times a little too jumpy, jumping around from one scene to the next with weeks that just flew by. 

I would recommend this one, but just don’t go in with any expectations of it being like Princess Diaries.

This was super fun, and I definitely felt for Daisy. Hawkins did a great job at writing her so that her emotions became my own. But it was fun and cute, and fulfilled my need for a little princess fantasy left by a certain royal wedding.

Cute, light read! This is a fun twist on the typical “commoner meets royal, they fall in love.” The crush on Miles was cute and organic, although I would have loved to have read them as a couple even more! A good first book in this series (I read Her Royal Highness first), and now I want to read about Seb falling in love! I do wish there had been more about Ellie and Daisy’s relationship and how it’s changed since Ellie started dating Alex.
