A new Rom-Com from Mrs. Grey? Sign me up! Like always I had fun reading this cute romance. This is an age-gap, marriage of convenience rom-com with a grumpy hero, which if I'm being honest I am a sucker for those tropes in romance. 

Our MC Elizabeth is a newly graduated Art student looking to get her art work in galleries in New York. After getting a distressing call from her mother, she is talked into getting married to save her family and fulfill an agreement her grandparents had with the grooms. In walks Walt, our tall, dark, and handsome grumpy hero. 

I really liked Elizabeth and could somewhat relate to her being an artist myself and the insecurities that comes with it. Her family was beyond annoying and I probably wouldn't have put up with half of the crap she did but I also understood why she did. The Dynamic between Elizabeth and Walt was definitely slow burn and at times I was thinking "okay can we just share our feelings please?". 

Overall, I enjoyed this story but few things irked me. One being the lack of communication. I know that's common in human behavior apparently but it was getting to the point that I was questioning if these were adults. I get their married was of convenience and they were essentially strangers but how are people supposed to know, I don't know say your views on how this marriage is going to work unless you sit down and actually discuss it?. Besides the lack of communication and the middle getting a little repetitive, I enjoyed this book! 4/5 stars.

oh. my. god. i love this! i was so excited for this from the beginning for many reasons—it’s an R.S. Grey book, it’s pink, it’s an arranged marriage trope, like!!!!! of course i’m in for a ride! i enjoy how different each of her mc are, Elizabeth is an artist, and is bumming it in NY the night she gets a frantic call from her mother, the next day she’s at the court office about to get married. the fact that they have a somewhat history and an age gap, already had me thrilled for what’s to come.

i don’t think i even have to state that this is a slow burn, it was very slow burn but i enjoyed every bit of it! i would’ve devoured this in one sitting if i could, but motherhood awaits. elizabeth is creative and tries to break from her family mold, but when she’s in need by her family, she doesn’t bat much of an eye, and reluctantly helps. even if she didn’t realize what she was getting into.


now for the spoiler-y part of the review
okay wow. i loved elizabeth and walt, i love how fast paced it was and slowly, slowly they were starting to develop feelings for each other and it went fast. i knew walt was starting to develop feelings when he’d start changing up his apartment for her. like one day the library was set up perfectly for her art, the next she wakes to a gorgeous ring specially picked out by him, and it’s so cute. i FLEW through this, especially once it started to pick up with them.
