Some stories like ‘Monkey Island’ and the highlighted ‘Run, Melos!’ are very refreshing to read. The former puts us on the shoes of a monkey and see the world through their perspectives, guiding us in seeing things they think matters and important. Contrastingly, the latter—quite the masterpiece, in my opinion—explores the very-human experiences and turmoil of emotions. I love how Dazai go back and forth with perspectives from first-person to third-person throughout some of the stories, making the experience feels more whole.
