This book was disappointing. I feel like there was a really good story here but it failed in its delivery. The characters were barely introduced, there was maybe a page and a half before the action began so I really didn't care what happened to them. It was like being told a story by a stranger that you have no attachment to. There was also so much jammed into this book. It was like the author felt the need to show every little thing about the realm rather than drawing it out a bit. It was like every other chapter "oh no Jenny is in trouble again but it's ok because jack will rescue her in ten pages so she can move on to the next bit of trouble..." The last 100 pages or so was pretty much the only part of this book I enjoyed. 

2.5 stars overall.
