So, as it turns out, when it comes to book boyfriends (gah I hate that term, but can’t think of a better one), I’ve got a type.

You know the lovable monsters? The sort of brooding and grumpy-but-secretly-a-marshmallow kind of dude? The ones who have some dark secret? The guy that you reeeeeeally shouldn’t fall for, because it would be 
  such a TERRIBLE idea

YEP, that’s the one. That seems to be exactly my type.

So naturally, when I go to the manga shop “just for a browse” and I’ve been jonesing for something a bit dark, with maybe some slow burn and a tiny bit of tortured tension or “it’s so bad it’s good”, I am BOUND to come out with something.

This is exactly the fix I needed. And now I want to go back and buy the rest of the series, but that would zero-out my budget and I’ve got a family that has this habit of actually needing food to eat, and a car that needs gas, sooooooo.... damn, I have to do the adult thing and wait.
Which is slightly torturous because this is the kind of thing that you can just binge read like no tomorrow. And I want MORE, dammit.

This is an urban fantasy in the vein of Tokyo Ghoul, but not nearly as horror-like. So if you like the idea of TG but can’t do all the crazy and gore, this might be more your speed. (No judging! We like what we like, peeps. That said, the cover art for Tokyo Ghoul is hard to beat.)

It’s got all the right tropes for my current mood: dark urban fantasy with innocent MC falling for dark brooding dude with threatening presence and even more threatening secret... and I can’t tell you more except that I’m giving this 4 STARS and I want more ASAP.

#1 favorite anime! I love vampire animes and this one stands out from the rest. The description of vampires in this series is a lot scarier and the spicey sub plot does not disapoint!
