we follow Nahri after a Djin summoning ritual where she accidently calls for Dara and we take of in an adventure across the desert, Egypt and all the way to Daevabad, the city of Djins rules by the Qahtani. The plot is promising, the characters even more, through a multi POV with 3rd person narration, we encounter all the Qahtani family, all more peculiar than another, we learn about Nahri's life and the history of Daevabad. it's a book packed with folklore, heavily influenced by Middle eastern setup, as we start literally in Egypt, which, unlike other books, is not reduced to only a desert, but we hear of the cities and civilization there through Nahri.  the islamic and arabic influence is clear, the author holds a fascination to it, from names to words and the worldbuilding, it's a fascinating story that also holds socio-political questions, especially regarding Qahtani rule in Daevabad. it's a fresh breeze of adventure, action and thrill that'll make you only want to read more, lucky us it's a trilogy.
