i never got the chance to read this book in school so i took it upon myself to read it, and i can definitely see why they make people read this book in school. was it groundbreaking, no. but it was sad, and thoughtful, and makes people think about how they treat others, especially people that come from all different areas. i think if i read this book when i was younger it would have been one of my favorite books but because i read it at twenty i still found it good, just not as many lessons learned because i already understand the concepts. but i liked the characters, they where all developed very well, and i liked the story overall.
