Honestly, I was going to DNF this book, but I hate doing it so I stuck it out. I just didn’t really like it. The whole thing felt very forced and the story was all over the place. I am a sucker for a mafia romance and I know that they can be far fetched sometimes, but I still usually enjoy them. This one, I really did not enjoy. The spice was fine and the characters were alright. It just was not as good as some of the other ones I have read. Plus they’re both too young. 19 and 23 I believe. I don’t understand why people cant be mid to late twenties or even early thirties.

In all honesty, I have no idea how I even came across this book series. I think it might have been something I saw other people praising and thought I'd give it a go, but I'm not really sure why. This series was outside my normal reading scope, which can be good but in this case it was just alright. This book gave me major 365 Days vibes - but done a little messy and less plot driven. I felt like there was a lot missing as the reader, and the occasional jumps in time and location where confusing. I also really couldn't come to care for either of the two main characters so this was just not a win for me. If you're into this specific mafia/kidnapping thing maybe you'll like this - it just wasn't up my alley.

A bit too much for me personally: redemptive romances can be a struggle for me, but also really hood my attention. Definitely a gripping read.
