Saga: Compendium One
Reviews

Used the R-slur somewhere between 3-5 times, would have been 5 stars without it! For context, yes, it's used by the good guys.

** spoiler alert ** My cousin reviewed this graphic novel a couple of years ago, when she was trying to read new genres. It's been on my mind since then, so I finally was able to check it out from my local library. I wasn't sure what to expect at all, but the first compendium of Saga tells the story of Hazel, her family, and their adventures. While the graphic novel is set in space, it parallels real life, and was heart-wrenching at times. There is a lot of death, war, sex, and politics, just like real life.

You like comics? You'll like this one!

I'm completely engrossed, fascinated, and impressed with this story. Saga is beautiful, edgy, vibrant, emotional, dark, and playful all at once. (Volumes 1-9, Issues 1-54)

The art work is gorgeous the story sucks you in and I teared up at certain points and had to put it down for a bit but that ending destroyed me.

Finished binging this incredible series (so far) and wanted to collate some thoughts. Never has a story been so vivid, the illustrations so detailed, the characters so in depth. This series was devastating, with flashes of hope and optimism sprinkled into the chaos. Ultimately a series about family (given and chosen) and hope amongst a universe riddled with war. Shed so many tears reading these, can't wait for the next volume.

cried after finishing this because i know i’ll never read another graphic novel as good as this.

Well I reread all of Saga and it was quite a ride. And yet again I am here to ask when tf we can expect Volume 10...

reviews from the volume entries: Vol. 1: I read the first issue aaages ago when Saga had just started and I'm determined to read all of it now. The first issue left a good impression on me and now that I've read a whole volume - Yep. This is my shit. Love it! Also, I never find many protagonists that share my name so this is a plus hahah Vol. 2: That was an intense volume whew. Help, I love all the characters. Vol. 7: im sad now, thanks
