Pretty interesting from a historical perspective. Not totally sure I understand the message, or the parallels with Joan of Arc. But sometimes history doesn't divide neatly into who's right or wrong.

Does not stand alone. To understand the ending at all you must have read Boxers.

I would probably say that I enjoyed the first book more. The main character of this story was annoying and I just couldn't relate to her. I didn't enjoy reading from her perspective.
