Samuel Beckett

This volume is an absurdist play in which two characters, Vladimir and Estragon, wait endlessly and in vain for the arrival of someone named Godot. They claim he's an acquaintance but in fact hardly know him, admitting that they would not recognize him when they do see him.

Was I sleeping, while the others suffered? Am I sleeping now? To-morrow, when I wake, or think I do, what shall I say of to-day? That with Estragon my friend, at this place, until the fall of night, I waited for Godot? That Pozzo passed with his carrier and that he spoke to us? Probably. But in all that what truth will there be?

But at this place, at this moment of time, all mankind is us, whether we like it or not. Let us make the most of it, before it is too late! Let us represent worthily for once the foul brood to which a cruel fate consigned us!

I missed you... and at the same time I was happy. Isn't that a queer thing?

I'm not gonna remember 95% of this. But the 5% I will remember will stay.

Will need some more time with this one. A masterpiece obvi.

I think it's an interesting take on people living with repetitive actions. I take this as a sort of critique on people waiting around for religion.
