True sisters

This book was very hard for me to get through, If I didn't have to read this for a book club that I am in I would have probably set it down and not picked it back up. I am not a Mormon so I am not if the religion was portrayed accurately in this or not. But this book doesn't portray the Mormon religion very good in this. I found the men in this book, arrogant, self-absorbed, selfish. The women, despite the authors attempt, I don't see any strong women in this. I found it disgusting how they were treated by the men, but still made excuses for them. You can be religious, but that doesn't mean that you have to be a doormat for someone. I understand that this was in the 18th century, but the Arthur could have done better with this.
