Entangled Urbanism Slum, Gated Community and Shopping Mall in Delhi and Gurgaon
This book explores the city as a series of interconnections between spaces and processes. Combining fieldwork and historical analysis, it examines the city that is produced through overlaps between malls, gated communities, slums, Disney-fied temples, urban bureaucracies, Residents Welfare Associations, slum pradhans, middle-class housewives and bottom of the pyramid' consumers. Through these key aspects, the work looks at Delhi and the National Capital Region asa series of overlapping meanings rather than as an identifiable urban essence.
