Samantha doesn't know what she and her daughter, Eva, will do when she gets fired from her job as a waitress.  Trying to keep Eva's grandparents from taking her away has left Sam desperate and on the run.  When Zeke offers her a job as his accountant for Stryker Security Forces, Sam is dubious, but with the safe apartment that he provides as part of the job perks, she knows she can't turn him down.  It isn't long though before Eva's grandparents find her and threaten to take her away from Sam, so she reluctantly looks for help from Zeke and the security team that has become his family.

Falling for Zeke suffers from the same issues that all novellas have and that is that it is just too short.  There really is no time to develop the characters so that we can understand the reasons for their actions or much about their backgrounds.  Also, the plot feels very rushed and filled with telling instead of showing.  Overall, Falling for Zeke had potential to be a much better novel with more length.
