3.5/5 The story of Everly's best friend, Thomas, from the book "Burn for me". It was my first MM romance book from Sara Cate, and I really liked it. It was short and smutty, plus the plot was great. "I’m just tired of hiding something I shouldn’t be ashamed of." "I want someone to rely on me, and I realize how true that is. I want Pax to need me like air. I want to be the oxygen that fills his lungs and the person who provides a roof over his head."

Fun, quick, smutty MM novella.

What a hot novella! I mean, we get dicks and sex right in the first chapter; that says enough.

I’m either about to be fucked or murdered, and my body is wound so tight in arousal and anticipation it doesn’t seem to know the difference.

Thomas is stranded with his car. When he calls a tow truck, all he's expecting is to be rescued, but imagine his surprise when the man who arrives has a body of a Greek god and has Thomas all flustered. When they get to the garage, his surprise goes through the roof when Pax manhandles him and fucks him right then and there.

I’ve never loved the feeling of being used and so selfishly fucked before, but the idea of being this twenty-year old’s fuck toy has some strange appeal to it.

Pax is so in the closet, he might as well reach Narnia. His secret has been safe; no one around him knows anything. Unfortunately, he wasn't counting on his spur-of-the-moment fuck toy, Thomas, to be his professor at college.

“You don’t know me, and I don’t know you. Don’t talk to me, look at me, or touch me. I don’t do relationships, so when we’re alone, I own you.”

All Pax wants to do is steer clear from Thomas, but the pull is so strong. Y'all, the chemistry and sexual tension! Oof! I know it's a novella, and they tend to not include much to really understand the full scope of the story or even believe a romance.

Sara Cate came and succeeded with this story. We got so much back-story from the characters, and enough time to believe there's something between Thomas and Pax. And boy, was it electrifying and ready to combust!

Overall, Fire and Ash is a great smutty story that can be read in one sitting. If you're looking for something to hit the spot, this is it!

I swear this guy is going to break my heart, and I’m going to love every second.
