i like that it feels like we're 2 people accompanying each other on a journey, because these goals apply to me too

1. Improve my pronuciation of the Qur’an and memorize six new chapters, at least one a week.

2. Discover myself. What does Islam mean to me, and how can I use it to figure out who I am and the future I want for myself? Do I want to start the MSA? What kind of career will I pursue?

3. Learn to focus on the important things. Concentrate on my prayer rather than rushing. Pray on time, and don’t miss any of the five daily prayers.

4. Don’t wait to feel like a better Muslim—actively seek God in both good and bad times, till it becomes a habit.

5. Get to know my cousins. Be a better relative, friend, and daughter. Learn to be more open, patient, and selfess in my relationships.

My biggest struggles were praying on time and lack of concentration.

Dad always said it was easy to seek God in good times, thank Him for that new car or whatever. Thanking Him and making an effort to stay grateful and keep your faith strong even when it feels like your world is about to implode? Not so easy.
