okay so. wow. 4.5/5 stars rounded up for jackisis.

i didn't expect to like it this much, and i wanted to rate it 4 stars, originally. because isis and jack’s banters are so good, they're pushing each others button like no others. 

but then the last 10% happened and it tears into my heart (still is, when i write this review) and it's incredible. being in book twitter i already knew for years what trope to expect from this book, but i still didn't know how it would happen. and seeing everything came together gradually was fascinating. 

anyway, my heart hurts for jack and isis :(. also, isis deserves the world btw, she's the best girl ever. (and avery deserved to rot, i need her to on next book idc she's horrible—not to isis directly but still, very, very horrible human being.
the only good thing she'd done is providing great observation about jackisis dynamics:
“You’re like him, you know.”
“Say what?”
“You’re like him,” she repeats. “Jack. You’re different. People can feel it. That’s why you two are at odds, probably. You’re so similar. Like two magnets repelling each other.”)

GOOD GOD THIS WAS FUCKING AWFUL it was so bad what the hell i can't believe i even stuck around to finish this mess of a book. 

So this book follows Isis (i thought it was some racist joke when she was first introduced but apparently not??? Like that's unironically her name??? Are Americans okay???) She's 17 and just moved to a new town and onto a new highschool and of course she is a "kickass secretly intelligent full of wit balantly honest extremely sexy -but she doesnt know it shocking i know- and obviously more observant than a detective" you know just your average white gal :)

And the dude is named Jack but they call him Ice prince because wait for it.... He is so cold! And a badboy! And talks to no one! And has no friends! I mean WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT? And our Isis slaps him on their first encounter :))) because how else we would know that she is badass??? And that scene made me have war flashbacks about Wattpad but that's another story for another time. 

Spoilers ahead so!!! 

So this Jack is 17 SEVENTEEN has a fake id where he is TWENTY SEVEN pretty sure that no 17 can pretend to be 10 years older, like no matter how muscle-y you are it just WONT WORK and this bitch works as AN ESCORT??? Like i'm not big on the American Law and i do not wish to be but i'm pretty sure that's illegal???? Especially for a job like this??? WHO IS THIS MAN TRYING TO FOOL but of course he is working to save for his childhood gf's hospital bills :((((( because he has such a good big fat heart. And we find out this whole thing by our Isis snooping around because since the slap they "declared a war" and they are always trying to get on each other's back by ivading each other's privacy. Isnt it the cutest thing you heard today? Don't you just love it? Because i obviously do. 

These two have NO regards for each othe's feelings and they say/do things that are just what ????? But i guess i'm supposed to find it cute. I could go on about this forever but for the sake of my sanity amd yours i wont.


But one more thing , can you believe that the author threw in the Amnesia trope when she forgets no one but HIM? HE who saved her???? I bet you didnt see that coming.

My thoughts on Love Me Never…

Trigger warning for domestic abuse, terminal illness and various mental health issues.

So when I first picked up this book I thought it was going to be all insta-love and happily ever afters… Boy was I wrong.

Jack ‘The Ice Prince’ is everything you want in the male lead. He is gorgeous, witty and extremely standoffish. Hence The Ice Prince nickname. All the girls at school lust after him and all the boys are terrified of him. So pretty much perfection!

After a rocky start, I fell in love with the main character Isis. She is fun, witty and outgoing… on the surface. Down below there is much more going on. For the first couple of chapters or so her attitude towards herself almost made me stop reading the book. However as you learn more about her past you understand why she is the way she is.

“Did you have fun? How many boys did you make out with?” She asks.
“Seventy. At least.”
“How many shots did you take?”
“Fourteen. I let go of the wheel halfway home and Jesus drove me the rest of the way.” 

I love that there isn’t really insta-love in this story. Isis declares war on Jack after he made the first girl that was nice to Isis cry. Yeah it is obvious what is going to happen and it is still cliche. But no they do not spot each other across a crowded room and instantly know they are meant to be. It was refreshing!

Fun, witty hilariousness aside, this book really tackles some serious issues, such as: domestic abuse, mental illnesses etc. and still manages to be a fun, easy read.

The author has done a great job developing all the characters in the story, whilst still keeping the book interesting. I can honestly say that there wasn’t really a character I hated in this book, except Nameless and Leo, but they are for obvious reasons and they are meant to be hated. So no throat punching whiny girls in this book. Yay!!

I love this book and recommend it to everyone.

Este libro lo leí casi por casualidad, lo tenía en mi biblioteca digital y lo empecé porque estaba aburrida y lo terminé leyendo en un día (es corto así no parece impresionante pero es adictivo).
 Nos trae una pila de clichés que ya conocemos pero para pasar el rato están bien ensamblados. Tenemos a la chica "diferente a las demás chicas" (esto en algunos momentos se vuelve MUY, pero MUY molesto), el chico "oscuro y misterioso de ojos azules e impenetrables de pasado tormentoso, con mala reputación, y brillante", la amiga "hermosa que no sabe que es hermosa pero a la vez es más que solo eso y es muy sensible", el chico "presidente del consejo estudiantil que conoce a todos y es un poco tímido y sabelotodo" y la chica "mean girl". Suena a un combo nefasto, peeeero no está tan mal, es una lectura ligera y le agregaron unos toques de peligro, algún giro en la trama, y otros personajes que por lo menos en mi experiencia lectora, no suelen verse en este tipo de libros.
 Creo que lo que me enganchó fue el nivel de sarcasmo que manejan los protagonistas con ese enemies to lovers vibe que es obvio pero lindo de leer.
 Siento que no estoy haciendo un buen trabajo recomendando este libro, pero la realidad es que estoy escribiendo esta reseña luego de haber terminado la trilogía, por lo que denme algo de crédito, no voy a ser tan masoquista de leer una trilogía entera si no capta por lo menos un mínimo de mi interés.

After this book has sat on my TBR list for the longest time, I finally picked it up. And, honestly? I'm not too sure how I entirely feel about this book. 

Love Me Never follows a girl named Isis who is the new girl at East Summit High. She's not like most girls. She's very outgoing and seems very confident in everything she does. She also has a knack of saying almost everything that pops into her crazy mind. At her new school, she only has one friend. Kayla. Kayla is a sweet girl who gets her heart crushed daily by her crush Jack.

Well, Isis sees Jack hurting Kayla's feelings. What does she do? She punches him in the face and declares war with him. Personally, I think that's quite childish for the both of them. I didn't think the war would last through the entire book. I thought it was going to be a quick banter and be done with. 

I got bored of the war real quick. I think it makes Isis look like a big bully. She's not the nicest person around. I know she had some stuff happen to her in the past but that's not a good reason to treat other people like crap.

I didn't get through this book really quick. It took a couple of days to get over the whole bullying situation and me deciding I'm not going to DNF another book this year. 

This book finally started getting interesting to me during the last few chapters. I will be picking up the second book to see where this "war" goes.

           3.5 stars. Umm where is the rest?!? I cannot do cliff hangers. This book was hilarious. It seemed a little immature at times, but they are teenagers so I wont hold it against them. I will be continuing this series to see what happens.
