The Temporary Roomie A Romantic Comedy
Reviews

Empezó bien pero diosmio se dijeron te amo en un segundo. yo así no puedo

Just like I assumed, this book had me hooked. I loved their pranks and how he never gave up on her. Definitely amazing book and can't wait to see/read more from this author!!!!

well, this was good! it was page-turning enough. it definitely kept me on my toes. i was excited to see what would happen next.
it was funny and meaningful and you could feel the tension between the MCs.
what i didn't like was how annoying the FMC was. like honestly who can be that rude and mean, despite their personal issues? if she was just closed off and couldn't trust others easily would be genuine enough, but this is beyond unrealistic. she was funny but this trait couldn't overshadow how annoying and immature her behaviour was. thank God Drew was adorable and saved this book!
i liked the story and the plot and maybe i was more excited with where this could end (compared to the previous book, The Off Limits Rule), but i can't rate it higher because Jessie is just super annoying for my taste.

Basically babies having babies. l say that because the heroine behaves like an absolute child. This could have been a YA novel. No wonder her last guy dumped her. She got pregnant after dating a guy for three months. Super childish and needs to grow up. Her excuse for why she was that way was totally lame.

⭐ 5 / 5⭐ Uh.. TOTALLY CRUSHED IT. This book is amazing. The most perfect thing are the main characters, Drew and Jessie. MY BABES. THEIR RELATIONSHIP IS ANYTHING GOOD YOU CAN IMAGINE. THEY HATE, PRANK, LIVE, LAUGH, LOVE, BANTER. I was smiling through chapters, then WHAM my heart suffered sharp stings, but then it's all replaced by awe. Totally DO read this. Best couple in Nashville.

Reading this in my early twenties was a bad idea. This book is not a cup of my tea per say. It's a handful of a book with childish and immature pranks and plot lines and it occurs to me this was published last year. This is my first book from Sarah Adams and pondering if I'll ever wish to continue reading her books.

Cute AF What a cute book! I loved it with every ounce of my being. It made me happy and laugh a lot and just overall made me feel good. If you need a romance that’ll just cheer you right up and suck you right in, this is the book for you!

THIS WAS PERFECT. IN EVERY POSSIBLE WAY. Where do I begin? Well the synopsis sounded just right up my alley. But then? It got 1000 times better. So, both characters are very likeable. Jessie got in my nerves once or twice but I’m glad those situations did not lead to unnecessary angsty moments. And I also understood where it all came from. As for Drew... Oh My God. This whole reading experience consisted of me swooning over him (and laughing like a maniac due to their banter). Drew is the sweetest guy. He is very perceptive and intelligent, both intellectually and emotionally. He is caring and loving and confident in the right amount. He truly had a golden heart. Aren’t you convinced already? As I mentioned the banter was off the charts. I laughed so so so much. Their pranks were golden. And their chemistry? Pffff amazing! Something I really enjoy in romance novels is the couple’s domestic bliss, per say. I love to read about them cooking dinner, watching TV, etc etc. And this book delivered it from the beginning. Even though they were roommates, they acted like a married couple from the start. Furthermore, the concept of this book, although it is not something completely new, it is undoubtedly refreshing. The fact that they are enemies, become roommates and fake date is enough to have me sold. But then it’s so different how she is pregnant and he is a gynaecologist (not hers, though). It seems to create an odd concept and it could’ve become too bizarre(it did not!!) Sarah Adams delivered it like a pro and if you couldn’t tell already: I loved it! Go read it. It truly is already one of the best reads of 2021. Cannot recommend it enough!! 5-Oscar-stars ✨

** spoiler alert ** When I read the off limits rule, I was a bit iffy by the fact there was a child in the mix. But I fell in love. The same goes for this book I loved it so much and just seeing Drew grow and show how much he loves her and her child and how good he is at it kills me. It’s soooo good!!! Rated it 5/5 for sure.

I read this a long time ago and I can't remember much from it. But I do know that if I finished the book it was really good. I did read this one before The Off Limits Rule so it can be read as a stand-alone.

3.5/5 it was okay. Jessie was kind of annoying but the book was kind of cute and heheheheheh

Enjoyed this book so much. Again it was hilarious had me laughing out loud so many times. I am absolutely in love with Drew, the very hot doctor😍 And Jessie was a lovely MC. Although a lot of her self sabotaging a maybe relationship with Drew annoyed me. Lol. But totally get where she was coming from. It was very cute and totally recommend 😍

Jessie is insufferable. I could not stand her at all and she almost completely ruined the entire book.
I liked the off limits rule so I was excited to listen to Jessie and Drew’s story and I cannot imagine two people ever ending up together.
This has nothing to do with the book it since I listened to it as an audio book, but the voice actors weren’t good. The man who read for Drew was monotone, and decided to give Lucy and Cooper the weirdest accents (it takes place in Nashville and neither had a souther accent in their audio books but all of a sudden they do.)

Didn't really catch the vibe. Will say I probably would have liked it more if I had read it and not listened to the audiobook, the audiobook is kind of animated and the readers make it sound more childish. But over all I liked the story just didn't fall in love with the characters.

A quick and easy rom-com 😊 I'd describe it as enemies to lovers, but not enemies as in fantasy wanting to kill each other enemies. The POV's thoughts felt less childish than the first one (The Off Limits Rule) which I preferred.

lmao. if anyone asks me about this book in the future, the one thing i’ll remember about my reading experience is how annoying jessie was. I just couldn’t- normally if I don’t like a mc then the chemistry between them & their partner can salvage the book. I didn’t feel any chemistry, and I still don’t understand how drew fell in love her her, let alone stand her (no offence 😭). also I didn’t realize going into this that it was drew’s book; I ended up liking him, but I didn’t love him in the off limits rule and probably wouldn’t have picked the book up if I had read the synopsis beforehand. honestly the only reason this book is getting 2 stars instead of 1 is bc of drew. this is my 3rd sarah adams book, definitely my least favorite. I haven’t rated any of her books higher than a 3 yet, so maybe her books just aren’t for me…

This book was exactly what I expected from Ms. Sarah Adams and it did not disappoint. I am also now officially have a new book boyfriend who goes by Drew or better yet Dr. Stuck up. There’s force proximity, enumerated to lovers, fake dating and an amazing Love interest who happens to be a doctor. Drew and Jessie’s little jabs and pranks were cute and there were multiple times were I had to take a break and came myself down during Jessie’s thoughts about Drew but I really liked this book and I’m definitely rereading this book again.

If I had rated this book based on the first 25% it probably would've been a 2 or 3 star, but it got exponentially better once Jessie stopped being a total brat. Drew was a great male MC and I enjoyed the sweet moments in their relationship.

Such a cute rom-com book and a lot of the packs in the book will make you chuckle. I'm not a pregnancy-trope reader so I was happy that her pregnancy is barely a topic in the book. The chemistry between the MMC and FMC is intense and hilariousb and I'm loving that this book storyline doesn't depend on miscommunication as the main conflict catalyst because books are wearing that out. I definitely suggest this as a light hearted read.

Unrealistic but a fun time

A fun enemies-to-lovers IF you can take all the pranking In real life, I would not be able to handle all the parking. But this is a hilarious romcom with plenty of flirting within the pranks, so I’m fine with it. I especially love how the author always allows her characters to work through their issues and grow.
Highlights

“I don’t know how to put a label on what we are, but I want one. Everything about our relationship is unique, and I realize you’re on the brink of a completely different life. I know going out on dates and physical affection will be limited and maybe even non-existent for a while. I’m completely fine with all of that, and you will find I can be the most patient man in the world. But I want something, even if it’s just a word that tells me you’ve officially let me in, that says we are together and gives me the right to adore you like I want to.”

He tells me he’s not old—he’s experienced.

I prop myself up and stare down at this beautiful woman, wondering how fortunate I am that God apparently took enough pity on me to drop her into my life when I never deserved her and never will.

“No sense looking back while you’re still moving forward.”

And now, I absolutely will not tell him I have feelings for him, because I never want a man to have power over my heart again. It feels easier just to let him think I hate him, let him believe I like being on my own.

If she’s going to ruin me tonight, I’m going to ruin kissing for her from now on. I’ll make sure that in comparison, any first kiss after this one tastes as dry as burnt toast.

Self-preservation is an instinct I can’t shake, and it’s kicking in in the form of fight or flight right now.

It’s too messy, and I don’t like messy. I like nice clean squares, neatly stacked in a row and color-coordinated.

It takes some time for me to get used to a new organizational system.

Cooper comes out of the house with two travel mugs full of coffee. Because he's practically my husband, I bet he has even added the perfect amount of my favorite creamer.

"Yeah, yeah, Drew mashed his finger on the BUY NOW button- big whoop! Cooper and I are the real MVPs here,"

"Maybe we all need some PDA rules in place."
"I'll never agree to the terms," says Cooper, hooking a finger through one of Lucy's belt loops so she can't race past and beat us to the reveal like she's intending. Lucy pouts and Cooper gives me a go ahead nod.

"You don't want to do that. She'll buy enough stuff to furnish your whole freaking house in the time it takes you to cook dinner."
"YOU TOLD ME TO,"
Lucy and Cooper>>>>

"What I should do is take this opportunity to go berserk on you like you did me and Cooper and warn you to stay away from her forever. But because I'm a remarkable human being, I'll tell you I'm happy for you, and I think you and Jessie are perfect for each other."

"The weather's nice right now. Why don't you go find Drew and take a romantic nighttime stroll by the lake?"
Under no circumstances can that happen. I will accidentally propose to Drew.

"That's a terrible idea"
"Is it? She'll scream, you both will laugh, she'll fake punch you or something, you'll pull her up close, and then BOOM- making out before you know it."
Cooper!!!

"It's okay baby. I won't let that sexually frustrated man crash you."

“But women’s health deals mostly in preventative measures, and it revolves so much around life and family. From the first birth I attended, I’ve thought it was the most incredible experience to get to be a part of, and for me, it’s the greatest honor to work alongside women to bring their babies into the world.” He pauses and shrugs. “This is the only field of medicine I’ve ever felt so much hope in.” Excerpt From The Temporary Roomie: A Romantic Comedy (It Happened in Nashville Book 2) Sarah Adams This material may be protected by copyright.

“Where are you going?” I say to his back. “To get your milkshake. Lie down on the couch and rest while I’m gone. I’ll move your boxes out of your room when I get back.” And with that, he shuts the front door behind him and leaves. “He scowls at me and then rubs his hand over the top dashboard, whispering, “It’s okay, baby. I won’t let that sexually frustrated man crash you.” I roll my eyes and position my elbow on the side of the door so I can lean on my fist. “Does Lucy know about this romantic affair you’re having with your truck?” “Whatever. Hers is worse. She steals the keys and takes it out for late-night rendezvous to get ice cream. The number of sprinkles I find on the seat after is obscene.” Excerpt From The Temporary Roomie: A Romantic Comedy (It Happened in Nashville Book 2) Sarah Adams This material may be protected by copyright.
