Behind them, across the hall, the dancers shattered their roses on the floor, and Aedion grinned at his queen as the entire world went to hell.

This book by far is my favorite so far in the series and the FMC is by far my personal favorite in the SJM universe.

I purred and snarled my way through this.

Slow paced at times, but a thrilling plot twist at others. Extremely story building and sets you up for an intriguing continuation.

Wow. This book was so long and really didn’t pick up until part 2 (about 2/3 through the book). It took a long time for me to get into this book but the ending was fairly rewarding and sets up the next books nicely. I was sad when Kaltain died as I thought she’d end up being a bigger point to the plot. I enjoyed when Lysandra came into herself and was being a badass. And also very sad for Dorian all around. I still find her and Rowan very cringe - at this point in her life I sort of wish the romance sub-plot would stop for a bit. Oh and finally I liked Elide, and the beginning of her little journey with one of the keys reminded me a lot of TLOTR.

Fastest paced book out of the series so far, easy to breeze through. Loved the witches finally coming together with Aelins story

Good story! Felt a bit rushed sometimes and other times a little drawn out, other than that very good! Really needed for the rest of the series!! Waiting for this moment and still, the plottwists 😮

talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, show stopping, spectacular, never the same, totally unique, completely not ever been done before, unafraid to reference or not reference, put it in a blender, shit on it, vomit on it, eat it, give birth to it.

I had taken a little break from the series after Heir of Fire, so when I picked up Queen of Shadows it took me a while to get back into the story. It was however worth the initial struggle very much, because this book was a masterpiece. The different story lines were perfect and the characters spectacularly written. I enjoyed it so much that I read the last 400 pages in less than 2 days. Truly looking forward to the rest of the series.

It was an amazing book and I am so glad Rowan and Aelin Finally kissed after SOOO Long. The story in general was a bit slow but it was amazing and I was suprised when I realized the King of Adarlan was actually possessed by a Valg.
