best of the series so far HANDS DOWN

talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, show stopping, spectacular, never the same, totally unique, completely not ever been done before, unafraid to reference or not reference, put it in a blender, shit on it, vomit on it, eat it, give birth to it.

one of the best books I’ve ever read

I had taken a little break from the series after Heir of Fire, so when I picked up Queen of Shadows it took me a while to get back into the story. It was however worth the initial struggle very much, because this book was a masterpiece. The different story lines were perfect and the characters spectacularly written. I enjoyed it so much that I read the last 400 pages in less than 2 days. Truly looking forward to the rest of the series.

loved the manon/witch side plot but so much happened in this book i feel like i can’t even remember it all, plus my baby dorian was basically gone the entire book and chaol is paralyzed now???? wild

WOW so much happened in one book, it’s kind of wild. Really enjoyed this one — best of the series so far. Lots of twists, turns, reveals. For the last half of the book, I couldn’t put it down.

“THERE WAS MUSIC, BEAUTIFUL EXQUISITE MUSIC PLAYING WITHIN”!!!! FINALLY✨✨✨

This was such a great story through and through and finally gave me the high stakes I usually crave in books. It was a great build up in the culmination of the other four books and made the reading experience that much more interesting, especially seeing how’s she’s weaving in her other series (screams in acotar). Her characters are also so unique and layered that it makes me a little sick to think how much they actually mean to me. I will forever love fantasy series and miss Sarah J. Maas ate with this one. Might be her best book yet (I’ll confirm once I finish the series)!

This book had some pretty decent action. I still feel like this series has been drawn out, but SJM is just a genius with her writing so even though it’s a slower SJM series, i have to give it 4/5 stars.

How does this series only get better? The amount of times my jaw dropped throughout this book was insane. Can’t believe there is so much more to this series and honestly have no problem extending it out for as long as I possibly can😂

This was good! I really like the main plot and story! HOWEVER, I hate the romance plot between Aelina and Rowan... also I don't like AT ALL how men are represented in this book! They are so annoying and possessive! SJM stop romanticizing possession! Women are no longer men's things! Even if you try to disguise it with "she's my queen" and whatever! Every time that Rowan saw her with her COUSIN (not her love interest, not a crush!) her COUSIN!! He felt jealous. The same goes for Aedion (her cousin). WHY DOES HE FEEL JEALOUS OF ROWAN? What the Hell SJM??? You can't mix romantic and family filings, that is just wrong! Besides that, I enjoyed the rest of the book (except Aelina plot).
