I have to say in the end I quite enjoyed this. 
It took me three tries to read this book. I just couldn't get in to the story and had to put it down. But I picked it up again a few weeks ago and found myself suddenly engaging in the story and connecting to the characters. Although the ending was a bit anti-climactic I actually enjoyed this. But to me it was nothing special and reminded me a lot of the Mediator series by Meg Cabot, a more grown up version of it so to speak.
