Not sure how I feel about this book. It felt short and I feel like what it was trying to say was a pretty cool message. i relate to the three girls sooo much! And I found myself rooting for Mike and Gigi and just all of the characters in general. I think the characters were nicely developed, and the story was nice and light. 

my issues with the book mainly have to do with writing style. it was first person and felt very cheesy and straightforward many times. there was nothing that really made me think and It got repetitive and left out parts of the story. a few things were off handedly mentioned and not explained enough, or felt like it was just thrown in there and felt very unrealistic. it definitely was a light read and a clique (feeling) novel trying not to take itself too seriously. 

i wish we got a little bit more context and a better conclusion, which felt rushed and not altogether believable. there was a love triangle and i feel like Will’s character didn’t make a whole lot of sense. we were given new facts about him up till the end of the book which was annoying and felt more as if it was supposed to be mentioned earlier. I still can’t fully describe Will because he had like no personality, and was super confusing. There were lines he said that were never explained. Plus his intentions toward Gigi while having a girlfriend were also not explained very well, nor the whole Ava plot. I can see kind of what the author was trying to do with Will’s character, but it felt like he had a 180 flip. At first we’re told he’s a nice guy, at least from how he’s portrayed, then he ignores her, kisses her, continues dating his girlfriend and sort of Ava, and in the end gives up the election? None of his actions seemed to fit together to form a cohesive person. Everything he was involved with felt like he was several different characters and made actions based on what the story needed at the time. 

definitely not the worst contemporary teen romance book i’ve read, but also far from the best.
