This novel had a lot going for it, but none of it came together and it all fell flat. The plot felt a little too thin, and there were a lot of convenient events that did nothing but simply dragged the book out. Which is saying something because the book is pretty short at 256 pages. There wasn't a true plot, not really anyway.

I did enjoy all the references and the cuteness; the diversity in the novel was well appreciated too. Unfortunately, diversity alone does not a good novel make but it certainly added to it. 

This wasn't bad, but it wasn't very good either. I appreciated the fact that it was short because had it been any longer, I wouldn't have continued reading. But kudos to all the pop culture and fandom culture references in the book, because that also kept me reading. 

Overall, maybe worth a one-time read.
