Dax An Arizona Vengeance Novel
Reviews

After reading Erik, I was really interested in the hockey team we meet in this series. I am a big fan of the tropes fake marriages and the best friend's sister. Dax seemed like the perfect combination of the two. This story starts off on a not so happy note, Regan's brother and Dax's best friend died a few months before the books starts. A mugging gone wrong and everyone is still dealing with the aftermath. Regan is having an even harder time, because he was everything to her after their parents died when she was a teenager. Add a rare medical condition that has a very expensive treatment and that's her life. Regan is a character I really enjoyed. Even though she's been through a lot and has a life threatening illness (which was really interesting to read about, because it's not something I've ever heard of), Regan keeps on going. The dreams she had before getting sick are still there and she's working hard to get where she needs to be. She's a hardworking character who wants to do this on her own and feels she needs to. Dax is a macho man with a big heart. He's doing well on his hockey team and financially he's not having any problems. Dax is also dealing with losing his best friend and needs to check on his sister. Let's just say he's shocked when he sees Regan isn't the little girl he remembers. I love that he won't take no for an answer to take care of his best friend's sister. He's so protective and really just wants her to be happy. Dax doesn't do relationships, but is struggling to deal with the feelings that are gorwing the more he's around Regan. Fake marriages are always fun in romance books and I loved the scene where they got married, haha. The chemistry between Regan and Dax is there from the start and I love how they try and fight it. They're good friends first and it's fun watching them tease each other. The humor in this book is amazing and I had a smile on my face a lot while reading. Watching the emotions grow was really sweet. Regan couldn't believe he could see her like that and Dax would do anything to see her smile. There are plenty of romantic moments and a lot of steamy ones (Sawyer Bennett knows how to give us those moments)! On top of amazing romance, Dax has an amazing cast of characters. The teammates are so much fun and if you've read previous books you get some updates about them. Also, I loved Dax's sister Willow. She was so feisty, but then again, you have to be as a photographer that goes to dangerous places. The only thing I wanted more of was her little romance. I would've like to see how that played out. All in all, Dax was an amazing book and left me wanting more. It had everything I love in romances: humor, romance, sexy scenes, amazing characters and an interesting storyline. I haven't read all of the previous books yet, but I will be doing so very soon!
