I find that whenever I read any books from this author, I just fall in love with the story and the characters, and the same is true for Scandal In Spring. It was such a delight to read this one, and it has been some time since I have. I loved both of these characters, as far as hero's go Matthew Swift is one of my favorites. He is handsome, driven, passionate, and throughout the story we see Matthew come to life. The interaction between Matthew and Daisy is witty, fun, and at times sensual; and entertaining to the reader. As far as love stories go this is a golden treasure, and one that will charm any reading with a romantic heart. Scandal In Spring is definitely at the top of best romances!!

           First of all, the ending was perfect, because the series closed on the beautiful friendship among the wallflowers. It really warmed my heart.
“To friendship," Lillian said, her voice suddenly husky. And their four glasses clicked in one perfect moment.”
I loved the main relationship in this book, I loved that the hero was from a working class background, I loved the daisy-shaped diamond ring, I loved the chemistry, the meet-cute (she wished for the right man for her AND HE APPEARED… HOW PERFECT IS THAT), the button with her hair he was keeping, the way Daisy and Matthew challenged each other, EVERYTHING. I love that SHE seduced HIM, I loved the parlour games scene, I loved that the scandal in the title is not what I was expecting it to be, and I even loved the further characterisation of Mr Bowman.
This is now my favourite Wallflowers book. What a lovely ending.

This is a low 4 stars. I really enjoyed Daisy and Mathew's story. I thought it was very sweet, and I nearly wept at the end. I absolutely loved Mathew as a character. I'm kind of disappointed that it was the last in the series other than some novellas. Overall, another great wallflower story.

I thought it might be tough to top Evie and Sebastian's story, but Lisa didn't disappointment one little bit with Daisy and Matthew's story. I couldn't wait to see the last of the four Wallflowers find true love, but at the same time I hate to see the series end. (Or almost end, anyhow. There's still the Christmas novel. I just don't know if I can read it in the middle of summer. But I probably will...)

What I enjoyed about this book most (aside from the characters, who I just couldn't get enough of) was the second chance meets antagonistic setup to Daisy and Matthew's story. They were acquainted with each other before learning of Daisy's dad's desire to see them married, but both had changed since they'd last seen each other. Daisy didn't hold Matthew in very high regard prior to being reacquainted with him and she had no idea the extent of his feelings for her. He was always pretty good at keeping things under wraps, which he illustrates again here as he tries to pawn her off on other potential suitors and as he keeps information about his past from her. Minus a couple more serious scenes, which totally made me all kinds of emotional, Daisy and Matthew's story was a bit more light-hearted than some of the other Wallflowers'. Yet it still had the depth and passion I've come to expect from Lisa and this series.

I enjoyed this book so very much. Not only did the playful relationship between Daisy and Matthew make me smile, but the "secrets" he was holding back kept me guessing. I swooned over the romance and was excited to find romance novel-loving Daisy had some vixen tendencies when it came to getting what she wanted from Matthew. I loved the dynamic between these two characters. Speaking of characters, we are treated to some wonderful scenes featuring our other favorite Wallflowers and their men. This book totally made my heart happy.

4-4.5!!! I’m actually so sad I’m finally done with the Wallflowers series. I want moooreeee 😭 But I loved Daisy and Matthew so, so much. They were adorable, wholesome, and so freaking sweet! And that epilogue for the Wallflowers? JUST PERFECT.
