Okay first of all, Prudence is one of my favorite little micro piggies ever! I love that Scarlet has Prudence in her life, and all the cute outfits she gets to wear. I think she helps keep Scarlet from being alone, you know? It kind of makes me wish that I had a micro pig, although I don’t know how the dogs would feel about an additional animal in the house.

Scarlet Oaks is a character that I really don’t mind supporting during her journey. We see her trying to navigate a new job after some downs in her life. While she has had some experience being a radio host in the past, being a radio host for a men’s call-in show at night may be a little out of her purview. She does an amazing job though, but then a mistake on one of her first shows may have possibly led to the a birth of a serial killer in the San Francisco area. Clearly, this was not her intent at all and ends up finding out that this person may have ended up targeting her as one of his victims.

I can understand the need to hustle and make ends meet after a sudden shift that changes your circumstances. In this case, Scarlet’s boyfriend ends up leaving and now she has to find a way to make ends meet without that extra income. Which led to her working on the men’s call in show. Some of her callers have been pretty funny, and she’s an expert at knowing when to let someone talk a little bit and when to expertly cut them off when they go off on a tangent.

I think seeing how Scarlet was able to use her knowledge of sports from her dad helped her with this position, and helped her realize that something was wrong after finding out about a woman being murdered. It was really great to see her use things that she learned throughout her life to solve the mystery of who the real serial killer was, even when the police weren’t doing such a great job. I’m excited to see how the second book will go.
