Scarlett Epstein is one of the best written, gritty teenage characters in a long time. She is devastated by the cancellation of her favorite television show, of which she has written tons of fan fiction and has a following of fans for her writing. Scarlett does not belong to the popular crowd in her high school and that knowledge allows her the freedom (sometimes too much so) to release her thoughts freely verbally to others. But Scarlett is not an evil girl and readers will find her flaws to make her even more interesting to them. Good ya realistic fiction. I received a copy of this book from the Amazon Vine program in exchange for a honest review.

A very funny and entertaining read.

There isn't much in the way of plot, but Scarlett is a very normal, believable teenage girl going through everything sixteen year olds go through. Basically she's a real teenager and not some unrealistic idea of what young people are or should be like. I loved her. The side characters are great too, specially Ruth. 

The different story lines are very interesting in themselves. And I'd have liked to see more development in at least on of them. Mainly Scarlett's realitionship with her father, that was sort of left hanging there. 

The romance is simple and bearly there. It's more of a crush thing and I loved how it was messy (like most teenage romances in real life are) without being dramatic.

So even if there are some plot holes, Scarlett Epstein Hates It Here is a very funny, honest, and even feminist

This book was not my favorite... to be honest it didn't really hold my attention. I don't know what it was about this book. I didn't really like any of the characters. It's sad that my favorite character and part of the story involved a side character- which was the main characters neighbor. The only reason i gave it three stars was because the neighbor gave me the feels, aside from that to me there was nothing special about this book.

I’m a big fan of fanfiction, having read a lot and even dabbling in writing my own sometimes, so anything that shines some light on it makes my heart very happy.

The story is about Scarlett Epstein whose favourite show gets cancelled and they decide that they will continue writing fanfictions about the story along with some other fans in the community. 

When Scarlett’s world starts crumbling around her, she turns to the community for advice and comfort. She uses her real life situations in her fanfictions, and this could have some serious repercussions for her. 

I have to say although I liked the story, Scarlett got on my nerves. But still an enjoyable read as I flew through it

Scarlett Epstein is the type of character I wholeheartedly love. She’s snarky, stubborn, and absolutely hilarious! The decisions she makes aren’t always the smartest, but then again, what teenager’s are? Which brings about a great point… I loved how real this felt as a teenage story. Anna Breslaw was able to create a story that was entirely believable, incredibly accurate and extremely realistic. The characters were authentic and the writing style was pretty close to perfect.

This book is the epitome of a humorous, laugh-out-loud-funny, YA contemporary story. This is probably the funniest YA I’ve ever read. Ever. Seriously. Anna Breslaw is one witty and silly lady, that’s for darn sure. I’d love to meet her in person… I’m sure she’d have me rolled over in stitches! For anyone that enjoys a fun contemporary story with loads of laughs, this is a must-read for your Summer TBR!
