A Touch of Chaos Hades & Persephone, #4
Reviews

the plots were JUICY!!! However, the smut was too much. I kept skipping.

Ok Iām DNFing this. Iām just realizing that the story doesnāt hold up on its own without the excessive smut and Iām not as invested as i thought oops.

Perfect and beautiful way to end the series. I was so invested in this series, I canāt believe itās come to an end. Itās going to be one Iāll reread forsure.

This feels like a clumsy attempt to combine the Iliad, Avengers Endgame, and Kingdom of Ash. It was a complete departure from the writing style, themes, and and general atmosphere of the past 5 books.
The sexually violent scenes felt like they were quite literally chucked into the book with zero purpose and were all the more jarring and odd for it.
Also, throughout the entire series, there has only been one perspective (Hades in "A Game of.." and Persephone in "A Touch of.."), so I was annoyed that the narration expanded to several other perspectives that really didn't add all that much. (Honestly, felt like Ithan or Tharion's chapters in CC3...)
It felt like she was trying to do a Throne of Glass style narration where multiple narrations converge when the plot has reached its fever pitch, but the final installment of a 6 book series is NOT the place to START that.
The first time I read through this series I was really bought in... then I reread everything before starting this book and was really disappointed by it and couldn't quite remember what I had loved about it...
