Well, first book of the new year and I would say I'm off to a good start because I really enjoyed this one! Were talking about a gay paranormal mystery thriller with a really attractive couple, not hard to be pulled in by something so amazing. The writing was great I loved getting to know these characters, I will definitely be continuing with other books in the series. I think this book has only scratched the surface of where this series will lead and that potential is also really exciting. 
 I really like Rainstorm as the narrator, his inner musings were also quite entertaining. I loved Rain and Danny together so much, I was a bit surprised at how quickly I was wanting them to get back together. Sometimes I don't like when there was a relationship pre-existing before the book because I've seen a number of different authors that expect you to almost catch up and then instantly believe in their connection, but still give so little about their past. I didn't have that struggle here, I was invested from the beginning. They had their tension and pointed comments little hints of the past and you could feel both the longing, hurt, and confusion as they navigated their difficult feelings. Not to mention they're hot as hell together and throw in the emotional hurdles, angst, sexual tension, and some light banter and I'm there! 

 I was looking for another series with a little romance mixed with mystery and ghosts, this delivered. Just a whim purchase because this is a new author for me and also one I've never heard of before either but seeing as I've found some underrated series that way I had to give it a go. This particular one ticked all my boxes. The only complaint I really had was the murder mystery was pretty predictable I figured it out quite quickly, but seeing as that was such a minor thing it really doesn't impact my overall feeling toward this book. Excited for more adventures and seeing how everything progresses! This book could've been written as a standalone but I'm so happy it's not and hopefully it's only the beginning to what seems like a great series!!
