Antsy is younger than Zib and Avery but she's written so much better. She has the agency and humanity that those two lack. Lost in the Moment and Found is everything that the Up and Under Books could and should be.

Oh loved this, definitely one of my favourites so far if not the favourite. And I loved how much it tied into the others.

I have to admit, there was too big of a time gap between me reading books 1 to 7 and reading this so I barely remembered the context of this. But I loved the fairytale element of it, it was nearly Ghibli-ish, so I found myself quite invested by the end.

I mean most of the books in this series cut me, but this one… just stab me in the chest next time it will be easier on me. God damnit. The authors note says she experienced trauma like this herself and tells you before anything happens to this little girl, she runs. Before you even start the book it tells you that which I appreciated. But like, I can absolutely tell she has experienced it on account of how I cried though this whole damn book.

Love love loved this addition! Antsy is such a compelling main character and i loved the little shop of lost things. I feel like this had a different tone than some of the other books in this series, but not in a bad way. This book tackles some hard topics but Seanan does it so well! Her writing style is impeccable and I am obsessed with this series. I hope it never ends.

The ending of this book was so bittersweet and perfect <3

Welcome to the Shop Where the Lost Things Go. If you ever lost a sock, you’ll find it here. If you ever wondered about favorite toy from childhood... it’s probably sitting on a shelf in the back. And the headphones that you swore that this time you’d keep safe? You guessed it.... Antoinette has lost her father. Metaphorically. He’s not in the shop, and she’ll never see him again. But when Antsy finds herself lost (literally, this time), she finds that however many doors open for her, leaving the Shop for good might not be as simple as it sounds. And stepping through those doors exacts a price. Lost in the Moment and Found tells us that childhood and innocence, once lost, can never be found. Probably a 3.5 star story. Very short, but poignant. Echos of Peter Pan and the Pied Piper told from someone left behind.
