Oh loved this, definitely one of my favourites so far if not the favourite. And I loved how much it tied into the others.

I have to admit, there was too big of a time gap between me reading books 1 to 7 and reading this so I barely remembered the context of this. But I loved the fairytale element of it, it was nearly Ghibli-ish, so I found myself quite invested by the end.

I liked this one. The world was definitely not my favorite and parts of the book felt too long, even though it's quite short, so not the best. But it is still lovely to see all the different worlds we can discover in the series.

First off, I very much appreciated the trigger warning and notice that was at the beginning of the book. It was nice to know what I was walking into and how far it was going to go.

This was one of the sadder Wayward Children books I've read, heartbreaking, emotional, but still pleasant to read.

This is a tale of lost childhood and growing up too soon, and the way that is told in this is a powerful message.

I loved Antsy and her story, even though in no way was it a happy one. This was one of my fave in this series, just behind In An Absent Dream.

I found this book to be well-written and it pulled me in right from the start.

I received this ARC copy via Netgalley, this is my honest review.

I mean most of the books in this series cut me, but this one… just stab me in the chest next time it will be easier on me. God damnit. The authors note says she experienced trauma like this herself and tells you before anything happens to this little girl, she runs. Before you even start the book it tells you that which I appreciated. But like, I can absolutely tell she has experienced it on account of how I cried though this whole damn book.

Love love loved this addition! Antsy is such a compelling main character and i loved the little shop of lost things. I feel like this had a different tone than some of the other books in this series, but not in a bad way. This book tackles some hard topics but Seanan does it so well! Her writing style is impeccable and I am obsessed with this series. I hope it never ends.

The ending of this book was so bittersweet and perfect <3
