Reviews

*I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review* Even though this is the fourth book of the series, it's the first one I read. But it won't be the last... Because not only did I love the couple of the book, I also got glimpses of the previous books' couples and now I want to acompany their journeys too! "Searching for Always" begins with the breakdown of Officer Stone Petty. Called into a house where the husband is violently beating his wife and has just thrown his small daughter into the wall, Stone loses it and assaults the man, beating him even after the man is already incapacitated. This is not the first time something like this happens, and his boss suspends him and orders him to take anger management classes as a mandatory condition to return to work. Domestic violence is the the trigger that makes him flip and Stone knows exactly why. After all he grew up seeing his father beating up his mother and, later, himself. And the last thing he needs is to be forced to take Arilyn Meadows's course... It is mentioned that they had already crossed paths in a previous book (which made me even more curious to read them) and that they took an immediate dislike of each other. Actually, Arilyn is not exactly happy either to have Stone in her course. It's enough having to deal with the end of her five year relationship, the pain, the heartbreak and the humiliation, she doesn't need to have to deal with the negative energy of the cop who is the exact opposite of what Arilyn believes and defends. Arilyn has also had a complicated childhood, but she chose to live life at its fullest, treating her body and mind with the utmost care. Arilyn is a vegetarian, only wears natural fabrics, is a yoga instructor and she meditates daily. Beyond the yoga classes and the anger management classes, she works on her friend Kate's dating agency. And she takes in abandoned puppies, training them, so they'll know how to behave when they are adopted. Arilyn has always prided herself of being able to maintain her cool under any circumstances, but lately none of her techniques seems to result. Especially when Officer Stone is involved... Stone is determined to get something good out of his punishment and makes a point of annoying Arilyn any chance he has. The weird thing is how attractive she is when she's angry. As for Arilyn, she cannot understand why Stone gets under her skin the way he does, but he seems to push all her buttons... Especially when he tries to seduce her in a rude and rough way she never imagined would attracted her so much... I loved this two and their bickering so much. They start by detesting each other, even feeling attracted to one another, and when they finally give in to temptation and begin to know each other better, they realize that they are not so different after all. I really liked the way they influenced each other, which makes them better people, more accomplished and happy. Little by little Stone realizes that Arilyn's techniques really work and finds himself resorting to them without realizing it, and Arilyn starts to understand that she can't demand of others the same level of commitment she has, and that it's also important to be out of control sometimes. In the middle we have an old but not obsolete grandfather, a nosy and meddling neighbor who may be more than she appears to be, and a chihuahua named Pinky who is a survivor and that will won everyone's hearts. The romance is sweet, even in the hotter scenes, and it was very good to accompany the protagonists evolution. I really liked the author's writing and it left a craving to return to these characters. I'm hoping the author writes a story for Stone's partner, because there is a lot of potential there...

Searching for Always... I have to say that Jennifer Probst knows how to write a book that makes you laugh. I don't know if it's just me, but I seem to always be in a fit of giggles (gasp! Giggles, I know, what an outcry). The characters are just amazingly funny and I love how she fits them together to get out this misshapen but perfect puzzle. In this book are a lot of "discover yourself" moments. It seemed to me that within this book were two characters that are hiding from their pasts and taking a little bit of an easier route rather than being right up front. Officer Stone, for example, has this idea of who he thinks he is supposed to be, only to find out it's okay to change and challenge himself and his beliefs. Same goes for Arilyn. Side Note: I adore the name Arilyn! I just think it sounds so beautiful and airy! Perfect for this character for sure. One thing I have to say about this series in all is that the writing is very light and happy. Sure the situations might be dark or there might be touchy topics, but, for the most part, this book was very bubbly and optimistic. This can be both a positive and a negative. Looking for a light summer read: here is the series for you. Wanting something to challenge your innermost thoughts on life and how you live it, probably not for you. This isn't to say the author is a bad writer or she is too optimistic. It's just the personality of her books are very uplifting and fun. This is the book to read when you are recovering from a tragedy story. This book will remind you that there are such things as love and recovery... it breathes optimism. The characters aren't bad either. For the most part, they are very charming and likable. Arilyn reminds me of a fairy. She floats around wanting to heal everything in her path. Yet she isn't some ditzy girl, she is actually quite smart and proves it again and again throughout the novel. One of my favorite parts of the novel is when she is knocking heads with Stone. The two of them have it out for each other since the first meet and greet and I loved their passion. Stone is the guy who acts tougher than he is. This was really prevalent when he was taking care of Pinky. I can't explain how many times my heart ached as I laughed at how loving he was without mentally believing it. He was completely against dogs yet one little puppy whine and he was a goner! So endearing! Overall this book is completely adorable and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a light-hearted romance with a twist. Or for anyone who loves it when a dog brings two people together! Definitely the best book I've read where the dog solidifies the relationship! <3 Megan @ bkwrm29.blogsppot.com

This was another perfect romance from Jennifer Probst. I can't say it's my favourite romance or anything like that but it was really damn enjoyable and I can't really ask for more from any book than that. Nate and Kennedy were such a fun couple with their chemistry and their humour. I loved how logical and reasonable Nate was following the logical path. He even did research for dating! How cute is that? He was this great geeky character that was charming in how oblivious he was in human interactions. He knew how to speak to people but seemed to forget that women were people too. He could have been an awful character but he some how worked. And Kennedy with her need to be all about looks when she was hiding a secret little geek within. She was brainy and interesting and sure I didn't get all of her quirks but they made her such a great character. I would recommend this romance looking for an easy read with some fun characters. You'll have a few laughs along the way as well.

3 stars Considering I began this book simply because I felt bad that I had to renew it from the library because I still hadn't read it I really enjoyed this book. Far more than I expected. Look, this is definitely a suspend your disbelief romance. I mean, a magic touch which sense peoples 'soul mate'? That's not ridiculous at all. Apart from that one minor ridiculous thing, though, I liked this book. Kate was sweet in her innocence (although, seriously? A virgin? Give me a break) and she was strong and awesome and I loved her love for Robert (her dog) so much it's crazy. As for Slade? He is an alpha male of alpha males and that was annoying but I accepted it. Don't get me wrong, alpha males in romance can be fun, I think he was a bit OTT, though. I did like how he was with his sister, Jane, and how he acted with Kate when he wasn't being a dick. He was a guy with layers and whilst his alpha tendencies were annoying I did appreciate his sweeter side. Overall, this was an enjoyable romance read to get me through the weekend and to end the week on. It was an enjoyable romance with some weird elements to it but it was pretty damn enjoyable all things considered.

Jennifer Probst definitely knows how to write matchmaking romance at all times. This book is the second one in the Searching For series. We get to read about Kennedy love story. Kennedy is such a cute and beauty person that anyone will definitely appreciate her. Kennedy has some body issues because she was bullied as a child from her weight that she strictly maintained her body as perfect as an adult. Nate is the total greeky but definitely hot and sexy. He has a career in science that he makes his career as priority. However, he craves for companion and partner that he try for speeding dating event but it was a busy until he spot a sexy women, Kennedy. Kennedy and Nate definitely have attraction for each other that it does not surprise me when they fall for each other. They both have some issue regarding toward their relationship that it takes them awhile to figure out why they belong for each other. Nate provide love and secure for Kennedy that she does not need to be in fear on falling in love. Kennedy provide love and affection for Nate that he knows where his heart belong to. Great story!

Jennifer Probst can always write a perfect romance story that includes funny moments yet some emotional ones too! She has written another best-seller! Searching for Always is a sweet romance but it does has some funny moments that it will make you laugh out loud. Searching for Always has the perfect combination for the reader heart. In Searching for Always, reader will reunite with familiar characters, Arilyn and Stone. Arilyn has always been known to be the calm yet pretty women but she is running on flumes with so many jobs she has. I truly think that she needed to lesser she responsible so she won't feel so tired and angry. She truly thinks she has everything calm and collected but she does not and Stone makes her realize it. Stone is great at his job but has a great temper when a case gets too hot. He had a rough patch that he needs angry therapy which is Arilyn. They do not like each other at all but I think that makes their relationship hotter and intense! They may have dislike for each other but they have more things in common. They like to get on each other in order to figure out their situation. Reader will enjoy Arilyn and Stone feisty argument because it makes the read so much interesting. Plus, the reader will get their kick out of it when Stone adopted a little dog, which is soo cute! Imagine a hot Alpha men carrying around a small dog. It's so dreamy! It is totally worth reading since you will enjoy every page of it. Five Stars!

It is always so sad to say goodbye to a series whenever author release the final book in the series. And Jennifer Probst has release the final book in the Searching series, Searching for Disaster. Searching for Disaster starts off with Isabella trying to move on in her life since she had experiences something bad in her past. She wants her own time but everything gets crazy and hectic when she meets the sexy police officer, William. William is sexy police officer that he enjoy his job so much. But he knows something is missing in his life which would be a partner in his life. And he has a perfect one in mind but it is going to take some time to pursue her that they are meant to be. It will be challenge between them because they are both conflict on what they want. But love is always worth it. Searching for Disaster is a perfect romance story to finished off the series. Four Stars.

Not my favorite in the Searching For series, but still a delightful read on a super hot summer day. We finally find out more about Arilyn and her cheating, horrible Yogi Teacher lover who she has finally ditched for good, and we get to see her meet and fall in love with brooding, anger management student Officer Stone Petty. Lots of simmering sexual tension, and a lovely ending.

**Review based on an ARC received for free for an honest review from www.netgalley.com Kennedy is the marketing manager for a matchmaking service and is constantly on the lookout for her next challenge. When she lands new client, astrophysicist Ned (soon re-christened Nate), she's in for the biggest challenge of her career. Can she transform this socially awkward geek with the heart-of-gold so he can find a soul mate? Or, will she fall for him in the process? That is the simple explanation for this novel which sets up like a My Fair Lady, but surprisingly there is so much more to love. I thought this would be twee, but I actually really enjoyed the ride! Both the main characters had depth, hang-ups, and loveable flaws. I was a bit dubious of Kennedy's body issues (she was formerly a self-described fat girl) and her sexual assault, but Probst deftly handled all of it and made it real and not just a plot-driver. Nate's handling of the situation was also exemplary for a man in a romance novel. There was also lots of light-hearted moments, fun dialog, and funny references to Nate's 'research methods' into the female psyche (he reads Cosmo and erotica like 50 Shades of Grey), so when we find out he is killer in the sack (despite lack of a lot of real experience)it doesn't seem fake. Read while you are working out, you won't be too disappointed.

Liam and Isabella have an instant connection at a college party, but Isabella's drug addiction ends things before they can even truly begin. Many years later, they are reconnected at the Kinnections Matchmaking Agency where various characters from Probst earlier novels in this series work to bring them together. Really cute and despite being a novella I still found enough meat to enjoy the romance between the two characters. Bonus points for Star Wars references. Thank you to Netgalley for the ARC!

It was predictable and the characters were slightly cliche, but not in a bad way. Sometimes I want nothing more than to enjoy a sweet and sexy romance. This book delivered just that with great writing and likable characters. They say opposites attract, and in this case, they definitely did. Kate, a professional matchmaker who doesn't believe she'll ever find true love, and Slade, a tough and protective alpha male who has been burnt by love in the past, made for an interesting, steamy read. The chemistry between them was obvious from even their first meeting. The book snap-crackled-and-popped with sexual tension. Kennedy, Arilyn and Jade, the side characters, were interesting and because this is a series, I hope see each of them get their own books at some point. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with these characters. The book captivated me and left me unable to put it down as Kate and Slade fought their attraction – and occasionally each other. It was a total feel-good book. Oh, and that epilogue? It was brilliant and ridiculously adorable. It was a perfect addition to this story. A definite "awwwww" moment for me. I really enjoyed Searching for Someday when I read it last year and her spring break novella, Beyond Me, was fantastic. I was so excited to learn she would be releasing a second novel in her Searching For series... and even more excited to get an early look at it. It was so flipping good. Searching for Perfect had a fantastic setup and the synopsis attracted me from the start... what happens when the nerdy guy is looking for love and hires a matchmaker to help make him over and find someone for him? Well, in Searching for Perfect, the nerdy guy is hot as can be and falls for his matchmaker. His feelings aren't exactly unrequited either. Kennedy was a strong, relatable female character. She isn't perfect and her insecurities hold her back. But as her story came out, it became clear why. She loves a good challenge and rocket scientist Nate (Nate Ellison Raymond Dunkle, yes NERD) just might give her more than she can handle. In more ways than one. *Snicker.* "Umm, Nate?" "Yeah?" "You're very... well endowed." He grinned. A totally masculine, seductive, "curl your toes and surrender now" kind of grin. "The more to pleasure you with, my dear." "Or kill me" "I'll make sure you're ready first." His eyes gleamed. "Three orgasms beforehand should do it." As much as I liked Kennedy's character, Nate was the standout for me in this book. I have a think for smart guys. Always have. Don't get me wrong, I love a good rocker or athlete, but at the end of the day, a smart funny guy will get me every single time. Nate was both. Way underneath is buttoned-up, socially awkward and overly frank exterior, anyhow. I had the biggest crush on Nate. He was a sweetheart who was really looking for love. Oh, and the man can dirty talk. Ho-lee-crap. I didn't expect that at all. Kennedy and Nate had a ton of chemistry, regardless of how much she was trying to fight it. She was convinced she would find love for him, but it wasn't with her. He wanted no one but her. This led to a lot of back and forth, but it was never overly angsty or dramatic. They had passion and a mutual respect for each other. They were spicy hot together and I enjoyed them, rooted for them the entire time, even if I wasn't ever fully certain they would get together. Searching for Perfect was the perfect mix of sweet, sexy and funny. It was a quick read that I couldn't put down. I adored the characters and the plot flowed well. This is a fun series and I can't wait to see where Jennifer takes us next. I received a copy of this book from the publisher, via NetGalley, in exchange for an honest review. Quotes come from the review copy and might differ from the final version.

Jennifer's writing is fantastic and her characters have a way of pulling me right into the story and not letting go even once the book is over. Arilyn and Stone were no exception. I was so excited to get my hands on Arilyn and Stone's story. I wanted to see how the surly officer and spiritual yoga teacher would get along. It should come as no surprise that they didn't at all... at first. They'd already crossed paths and not been all that impressed with each other, so when Stone was forced to attend Arilyn's anger management program after losing his cool in the line of duty, I just knew we were going to be in for a treat. I loved the push and pull between these two. They were both so very stubborn and set in their ways, yet the chemistry between them was undeniable. Inconvenient, but undeniable. Both Arilyn and Stone were fantastic characters on their own, but together they were really something special. She was kind and thoughtful. I could relate to her love for animals, even if I couldn't quite connect with her clean eating, yoga doing ways. Stone was grumpy and all man. He didn't much care for Arilyn's methods, but he was attracted to her... even if he didn't want to be.What he loved to do was push her buttons and I, for one, loved watching him get the otherwise calm, centered woman all riled up. Add to that the sexual tension between them and it just got better. It could probably go without saying that this book has some smokin' hot sexy times. When these two collided, sparks flew. But, more than just hot, this story was romantic and all kinds of swoony. There was tons of heart and I loved seeing the softer side of Stone emerge. And can we just talk about how hot it was when he called her "little one"? *sigh* I loved how important a role animals play in this book. Arilyn's love of four-legged creatures definitely played a part in Stone's progress and there were some heart-melty scenes guaranteed to make any animal-lover smile – and, if you're like me, tear up a bit. Searching for Always was a fantastic addition to the the Searching For series. I loved that we get a chance to catch up with some of our favorite characters and couples from earlier in the series. It always makes me happy to find out life is treating characters I love well. I'm excited to say there seems to be at least one more book in the Searching For series and I can't wait to get ahold of it. I don't know whose story it is. All I know is that it (supposedly) comes out in November and I already need it in my life! I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Originally posted at Booklovers For Life SEXY DORKY MEN ARE THE BEST!!!!! Ahem. Okay. So I became a huge fan of Jennifer Probst’s recently after reading Searching for Someday, and I had high expectations for Searching for Perfect, and Jennifer Probst delivers!! Spectacularly, if I do say so myself. I’d fallen in love with the premise of the Searching For series–the heroines are the founders of Kinnections, a matchmaking agency, and I was so, so excited for Kennedy to have her story told. She’s the one who gets the clients to socialize, to get them more comfortable with themselves, and I fell in love with her from the get-go. She’s awesome, hilarious, feisty, and all-around just the kind of person you could easily be BFFs with. But Kennedy she doesn’t to long-term, steady relationships. Until… Enter Ned. Ned, who is a rocket scientist–sorry, an aerospace engineer, and hires Kinnections to find a wife. He’s really… really nerdy. Like, seriously nerdy. He has no fashion sense, he has a unibrow(!), he’s terrible at social interactions, he LOVES golf, and he’s so unprepared to interact with the opposite sex, despite the numerous Cosmo magazines he’s read. “What’s your full name?” “Nathan Ellison Raymond Dunkle.” Fascinating. This just kept getting better and better. “You got stuck with a real doozy, Ned.” His face remained deadly serious. “I know. If my mother was still around we’d sit down and have a conversation regarding her original intentions.” “You know if you put the R in, you come up with NERD.” Ned is a new, big challenge for Kennedy. She’s got to whip him in shape, figuratively and literally, but the first thing to go is the name. So… Nate it is. And oh my gosh, here ensues the wonderfully hilarious transformation of Nate (My Fair Lady, anyone?), from dorky nerd to dorky hottie extraordinaire. It’s not only the looks that have changed for Nate though. Kennedy works on his social interactions, giving him practice with the opposite sex to prepare him for meeting his potential wife. It’s here that Kennedy and Nate form a deeper connection, one that Kennedy is terrified of. But Nate is relentless in his pursuit of Kennedy, despite the numerous women she throws at him. “Ken?” “Huh?” “I want to kiss you.” “Don’t think that’s a good idea.” “Agreed.” He lowered his head so his breath struck her mouth. “Don’t care.” Honestly, Nate had me giggling and smiling like a little girl. He has truly become one sexy, enticing man, and Kennedy can’t resist him. There’s just something about his dorkiness that makes him so appealing. He’s sweet and adorable, yet seductive, and who even knew he could be as charming as he is? And he seriously charms Kennedy (and me… *sigh*) with his humor, wit, determination, and intelligence. He’s such a unique character, and I slowly fell in love with Nate. But Kennedy’s painful past rears its head again and again, driving a wedge between the two of them and prevent a relationship that’s meant to be from forming. “This isn’t about me, baby. It’s about you. I can chase you forever, promise you the world, but until you take the leap with me, I can’t win. I don’t just love your body. I love your incredible mind, and your sweet soul, and you inner strength. I love the life you built for yourself with your friends and your career. I love every part of you–good and bad–dark and light–and I want to share it all. But you have to let me in.” Kennedy and Nate are so freaking perfect together, but Kennedy is stubborn. She has an internal battle to face, and I was so impressed with her character. She discovers so much about herself because of Nate and his never-ending support. I loved seeing the two interact with each other, fall in love with each other. There’s the perfect amount of sweet, charming romance to go with the hot, sexy romance, and let me tell you, Nate is a pure sex god in bed. I was blushing so much! *fans self* Nate sure as hell knows what he’s doing in bed. Searching for Perfect is such a heartwarming story (I awwed so many times!). We have two incredible, headstrong characters falling in love, and my heart burst and broke for them over and over. I loved reading Searching for Perfect–it’s fun, sexy, funny, and oh so sweet. The story and the characters are unique, and I was hooked from the very beginning. Quotes are taken from the ARC and are subject to change in the final version. Originally posted at Booklovers For Life The Searching For series is a series that I adore, and when I heard that Nate’s brother Connor would be getting his own story, I couldn’t wait to read it! Searching for Mine is the perfect blend of sexy and sweet. Even though it’s a novella, it’s a fully satisfying story that will have you smiling throughout it. I love when former manwhores get smacked by love and fall head over heels for their women, and Connor does exactly that. If you’re a fan of the series, this latest installment doesn’t disappoint! In Nate’s book, we saw Connor as that womanizer who never took relationships or women seriously, but he’s made a big change in his novella. At 38, he’s no longer satisfied with his usual hook-ups. He’s enrolled in college, taking his career seriously… except there’s only one thing getting in the way of his degree, and that’s Professor Ella Blake’s class. Ella is a recently-divorced mom whose main focus is her young son and her job at the local Verity College. She has no patience for students who don’t do their assigned reading and try to charm their way in class, so when Connor tries to butter her up for a better grade, she shoots him down, no matter that he’s as sexy and good-looking as he is. It turns out that the two of them are new next door neighbors, and when Connor helps Ella’s son out with some bullies, he finds himself wanting to help Ella and Luke out more and more. And becoming more attracted to the gorgeous single mother. As the three of them spend more quality time together, Ella finds herself seeing Connor in a new light. He’s a man who’s hard-working, dedicated, and sacrificed his younger years to support his younger brother. The two of them discover each other in new ways, but is it possible for a relationship to work between them when Connor has been anti-relationship for so long? “You’re an incredible woman,” he said softly. “You deserve… everything.” Searching for Mine is another sweet, charming addition to a series a love. It’s a quick read, but it packs a punch with the wonderful writing and characters. Jennifer Probst writes the best contemporary romances – I can’t wait to read more from her! Originally posted at Booklovers For Life This is my first Jennifer Probst book, and I'm impressed! The Searching For series is a spinoff of the Marriage to a Billionaire series, but you don't have to read the MtaB series before reading Searching for Someday. I loved the concept of the main character owning a legitimate matchmaking company, and Jennifer Probst doesn't disappoint. Kate, along with her friends Kennedy and Arilyn, own a successful matching company called Kinnection. And one of the reasons why it's so successful is because Kate has... the touch. If she touches two people and they're soul mates, she feels a shock. And while she's been able to use the touch to help couples get together, she's never been able to find her own soul mate, and gives up on trying to find one. Enter divorce lawyer Slade Montgomery. He's hot, smart, successful, and jaded about love. His sister becomes a client at Kinnection, and Slade, being the over-protective brother he is, becomes a client as well to expose Kinnection as a sham. He doesn't expect to meet Kate Seymour or to develop feelings her. And when Kate touches him and realizes he's her soulmate, she refuses to believe he's her 'one'. He's everything she doesn't want in a man, and the worst part–he doesn't believe in love. His job has made him so jaded that he doesn't believe love exists, but if Kate can match and find him a woman he'll fall in love with, he'll give up on trying to expose Kinnection as a sham and he'll actually believe in love. No matter how many women Kate sets Slade up with, he can't get Kate out of his mind. He doesn't want any woman except her. And as Slade and Kate spend more time together, their hilarious bantering increases, as well as the sexual tension. Slade knows it's inevitable that they'll end up in bed together, but he doesn't want a relationship, so Kate goes out of her way to avoid him. Slade hurts her with his cavalier attitude about love, and this is when he realizes that he wants more from Kate than just sex. "You're wrong, counselor," she said softly. "I'm not looking for forever. But I am looking for someday. I think I deserve that." I enjoyed Searching for Someday so much more than I expected. I was laughing and giggling in one moment, and then my heart would be aching and hurting for Kate and Slade the next. It's not an easy road to their happily ever after, because they're both so resistant to finding love in each other. But along the way, they teach each other that love is possible and does exist. "The possibility of love is worth everything, Mr. Montgomery. Pain, heartbreak, grief. It is the only thing worthwhile to fight for in this life. And though there are never any promises, if one is true and brave enough to give, there will never be regret." I loved reading this book. It wasn't perfect, but the story and characters kept me riveted. I couldn't stop reading and wishing for a happily ever after that Kate and Slade both deserved. Searching for Someday is a must read for contemporary romance lovers. I highly recommend it, and I'm looking forward to reading Kennedy's book, Searching for Perfect, and Jennifer Probst's other books in the Marriage to a Billionaire series.
