Send For Me
Reviews

I found this book to be relatively bland. I suppose I am personally getting tired of the alternating time period/point of view situations. The storyline felt tired to me.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ A quick, easy read of a Jewish family torn apart during WWII. The abrupt ending reduced this to three stars for me.

The synopsis of the book is exactly the type of book I love to ready. World War II era books having always been some of my favorite so I was really excited for Send For Me. But once I finished the feeling was lackluster. I WANTED to love it but I felt like it was a TV montage of a book. It skirted some of the characters big moments, first heartbreak, falling in love, escaping Germany, arriving in America and I never felt like we got to know Clare. Her story was so short, I didn’t feel like I was fully invested in her or Ruth’s relationship. Overall I wish we dove a bit deeper into the story throughout.
